Western Districts wrap up the minor premiership in Kangaroo Island Football

Western Districts wrapped up the minor premiership with a 40-point win against reigning premier Wisanger during round 12 action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) today. Western Districts started well to lead by 37 points at quarter time, before Wisanger hit back in the second term to trail by just 18 points at halftime. The third quarter would prove pivotal as the Saints piled on nine goals to two to take a match winning 58-point lead to the last change. Wisanger won the last quarter but Western Districts proved too strong as they won 18.6 (114) to 11.8 (74). Peter Hoban, Joel Cross, Cameron Florance, Tate Barrett and Tim Larcombe were named best players for the Saints, while Dusty Cross, Liam Sampson, Jason Fryar, Luke Stewart and Jayden Kingi were named best for the Panthers. Cross (6), Scott Hammat (5) and Hoban (2) were the multiple goalkickers for Western Districts. Sam Clifford slotted five majors for Wisanger.


Parndana won their fourth game of the season with a convincing 96-point against Dudley United at Parndana this afternoon. The Roosters won 19.23 (137) to the Eagles 6.5 (41). James Davis kicked six goals for Parndana, while Clayton Willson slotted two majors for Dudley United. Ben Gaskin, Jack Sexton, Zach Trethewey and Patrick Skeer were among the best players for Parndana. Best players for Dudley United included Toby Wheaton, Rory Florance and Sam Howard.


Kingscote had the bye.
