The SA Whale Centre has reported that the mother and calf Southern Right Whale pair, Mysteri and Magic, have woken up this morning and parked themselves just offshore (200m) from Frenchman's Rock. They have been there for the last few hours and are just loafing about.

Frenchman's Rock can be accessed from the Port Elliot Caravan Park road, just take the turn into the Caravan Park driveway road and park your car in the first parking area on the left. Then it is a short 5-10 minute walk to the Frenchman's Rock viewing area, follow the signs and be careful.

According to the centre, it is still incredibly important to maintain social distancing when out whale watching this season and to keep washing or sanitising your hands whenever possible. The centre encourages everyone to get out and about to have a look for whales but urges the public to do it safely and respectfully.

Keep your eyes peeled and if you do see a whale, remember to call the SA Whale Centre on 08 8551 0750, send them a message on their Facebook page or enter a report online at www.sawhalecentre.com.au.
