The historic town of Willunga is preparing to host the fifth annual Fleurieu Beer Festival on Saturday 2 November 2, at the Willunga Recreational Park. This year’s event promises to be a fun-filled celebration of local brewing talent, featuring the best of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s craft beer scene.
Ten regional breweries will showcase their finest beers, giving the chance to sample a variety of flavours and learn about the brewing process. Among the featured breweries are Smiling Samoyed, Kickback Brewing, Swell, Little Pete Brewing, Kuitpo Brewing, and more.
Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to meet the brewers, get tips on starting a microbrewery, and delve into the art of creating the perfect beer.
Alongside beer tastings, the festival will offer plenty of interactive activities. From beer bingo and target golf to a raffle featuring a prize pack of beer from each of the ten brewers, there will be plenty of fun to be had. Organiser Sally Scantlebury highlights this year’s theme as Beer, Burgers, Bands and Beats, promising a day packed with local flavour and entertainment.
Local food trucks will be on hand, serving up gourmet burgers, Argentinian barbecue, and sweet treats made in the region. Meanwhile, a diverse lineup of local musicians will keep the atmosphere lively, with performances from Hip Hop artist Taiaha, reggae band Little Fish Roots, country group Dustbowl Chic, and psychedelic rockers Shed Theory, among others.
The festival kicks off at 12 noon, offering a great way to enjoy a day of craft beer, delicious food, and live music. Tickets are available for $25 ($20 concession) and can be purchased online. The event is inclusive and accessible to all.
