Willunga had to battle hard yesterday to keep their undefeated season alive during round nine action in the FPAG ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition in the Great Southern Football League. The reigning premier hosted McLaren in a top-two clash which was tight throughout with scores level at quarter time and halftime. Willunga kicked six behinds in the third quarter and held McLaren scoreless to lead by six points at the last change. Neither team was able to score in tough conditions in the last term as Willunga held on to win 2.6 (18) to 2.0 (12). Caitlin Radbone, Cleo Guilfoyle, Tessa Kohn, Kristen Rothwell and Chelsea Farr were named best players for the Demons. Caitlin Ross, Sam Pratt, Sally Fuller, Tahlita Buethke and Ally Bailey were best for McLaren.

Mount Compass won their third game for the season with a 24-point win against Victor Harbor. The final scores were Mount Compass 3.6 (24) to Victor Harbor 0.0 (0). Kiahni Russell kicked two goals for the Bulldogs and Lily Rees kicked one. Best players for ‘Compass’ were Brooke Boileau, Amy Vitkunas, Russell, Georgina Thomas and Amelia Sartor. Best players for ‘Victor’ included Courtney Barry, Aloura Kirk and Jasmine Bailey.

Unfortunately Yankalilla had to forfeit their match against Goolwa/Port Elliot. 

Strathalbyn had the bye.
