Wine Flies/Falcons play out a thriller in Southern Football Women's A Garde

Reynella remained undefeated after a thrilling one-point win against Flagstaff Hill during round four action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Flagstaff Hill this afternoon. The game was tight throughout with Flagstaff Hill leading by just five points at three quarter time. Reynella kicked two goals to one in the last quarter to win 6.4 (40) to 5.9 (39). Taya Maxwell kicked three goals for the Wine Flies, while Jessica Couch kicked four goals for the Falcons. Ashlee Wright, Jaya Shreeve, Shanique West, Mia Brennan, Tayla Wright and Summer Weir were named best for Reynella, while for Flagstaff Hill, Brooke Watson, Jenna Andrews, Chloe Meyers, Emma Hodgson, Couch and Rachel Crockart were their best players.


Cove are top of the SFLW ladder after a comfortable 94-point win against Noarlunga. The Cobras led at every change to win 15.10 (100) to 1.0 (6). Emily Risitano (5), Alesia LeDuff (3) and Rebecca Jutilane-Maynard (3) were the multiple goalkickers for Cove. The Cobras' best players included Angelique Dean, Naomi Jones, Jutilane-Maynard, Risitano, Kate Galley and Breanna Stoldt.

Port Noarlunga consolidated their spot in the top-four with a convincing 95-point triumph over Hackham at Port Noarlunga this afternoon. ‘Porties’ led by 63 points at halftime before going on to win 13.19 (97) to 0.2 (2). Carli Morton (4), Bree Chapman (3) and Charli Faulkner (3) were the leading goalkickers for Port Noarlunga, while their best players were Chapman, Philippa Worthley, Faulkner, Morton, Shakira Dolman and Kalahni Bissi. Best for the Hawks included Dakota Dwyer, Laney Moore, Monique Hepden, Shayley MacFadyen and Charlotte Carter.


Ironbank Cherry Gardens had the bye.
