Reynella won their fifth game of the season after a comprehensive 127-point win over Christies Beach during round 10 action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Bice Oval yesterday. The Wine Flies led by 68 points at halftime, before kicking a further eight unanswered goals in the second half to win 19.14 (128) to 0.1 (1). Sarah Bourn had a day out up forward for Reynella with 10 majors, while Tayla Wright slotted three majors. Joining Bourn and Tayla Wright in the best players for Reynella included Summer Weir, Ashlee Wright, Sienna Garner and Mia Brennan. Best for the Saints were Chloe Brooks, Maddison Payne, Madison Marsh, Shania-Rayne Walker-Murphy, Maisie Hunt and Hayley Haire.
Reigning premier Port Noarlunga continued their undefeated season with a 76-point win over Ironbank Cherry Gardens. The margin would have been greater apart from some inaccurate kicking from ‘Porties’ as they won 9.22 (76) to 0.0 (0). Kalahni Howes (3), Tyla Pyman (2) and Shanika Roberts-Yeend (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Cockle Divers, while their best players included Eilish O’Hanlon, Roberts-Yeend, Abby Dittmar, Maddy Craggs, Millie Beens and Howes. Best for the Thunderers included Jessie O’Brien, Olivia Walker-Obushak, Tahlia Ward, Audrey Myers and Taylah McCormick.
Cove won their seventh game of the 2025 season with a comfortable 146-point victory over Hackham at Hallett Cove yesterday. Emily Hocking and Jaime Norup kicked four goals each to fire the Cobras to a 22.14 (146) to 0.0 (0) victory. Norup was named best on ground for Cove and she was well supported by Angelique Dean, Alexis Harvey, Lauren Kenny, Emily Hocking and Jaymie Savaidis. The Hawks were served best by Shayley MacFadyen, Chrysti Flevill, Rikki-Lee Escritt, Kate Moore, Emily Unger and Jolande Winson.
Flagstaff Hill also won their seventh game of the season with a 55-point win at home against Aldinga. The Falcons led by 32 points at halftime, before kicking four goals to one in the second half to win 9.9 (63) to 1.2 (8). Tiana Lush kicked four goals for the Falcons, while competition goalkicking leader Jessica Couch snagged three majors, giving her 45 goals for the season. Madison Brown kicked the only goal for the Sharks. Best players for ‘Flaggies’ included Brooke May, Lush, Melanie Koster, Brooke Watson, Abbie Butler and Ava Knuckey. Aldinga’s best were Elkie Cairns, Daisy Barber, Molly Reynolds, Holly Wilde, Dakota Oniszk and Emmerson Pope.
