Minor premier Reynella are through to the Southern Football League (SFL) Grand Final after defeating Noarlunga by 37 points in the second semi-final at Bice Oval on Saturday. The Wine Flies will suit up on September 17 in search of their first ‘A’ grade title since 2015. On Saturday, the game was tight and low-scoring in the first three quarters with Noarlunga taking a four-point lead into the final term. The last quarter was totally dominated by Reynella as they kicked seven goals to zero to win 11.7 (73) to 5.6 (36). Bailey Marshman and Bradley Potter kicked three goals each for the Wine Flies, while Tom Anderson slotted four majors for the Shoes. Best players for Reynella included Potter, Angus Rowntree, Marshman, Cameron McGree and Dylan Roser. Best for Noarlunga were Tom Anderson, Bailey Snelling, Callum Gaspari, Jake Anderson and Jake Birch.

Flagstaff Hill’s amazing run of six consecutive ‘A’ grade premierships is over after 2021 runner-up Morphett Vale defeated the Falcons by nine points in the first semi-final at Aldinga yesterday. It was a tight first half with Morphett Vale holding sway by 13 points at the main break. It was the third quarter where all the damage was done with the Emus piling on five goals to one to take a very handy 39-point lead into the final term. ‘Flaggies’ lifted in the final quarter but it was too late as Morphett Vale won 9.8 (62) to 8.5 (53). Bodie Sowter, Daniel Noble, Anthony Biemans and Braydan Hartwig each kicked two goals for the Emus, while Daniel Butcher kicked four goals for the Falcons and Nathan Beenham kicked three. Best players for the triumphant Emus outfit were Robert Schindler-Taylor, Connor Gilby, Biemans, Connor Lock, Hartwig and Sowter. ‘Flaggies’ were best served by Luke Beenham, Brad Kirk, Brayden Heyward-Ferors, Bradley Patterson and Nathan Beenham.
