Witton Bluff Base Trail update

Construction of the Witton Bluff Base Trail will start in late February, according to the City of Onkaparinga.

The council says work will begin at the Port Noarlunga end, starting with the boardwalk, which is expected to be completed late in 2024.

Building the seawall and path will start later this year and is expected to be completed mid-2025.

The trail will form a 1.37km section of accessible pathway around Witton Bluff, between the foreshore at Christies Beach and Port Noarlunga.

It forms part of the state government’s Coast Park initiative and the City of Onkaparinga’s Coast Park Plan

Construction work will take place from 7am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, with the possibility of work outside these hours, depending on conditions such as weather.

The council says, there will be some impacts on the surrounding area throughout the construction period, such as increased construction traffic and noise.

The boat ramp will be closed, with access maintained for  emergency services.

A site office will be established in Port Noarlunga, with restricted access to certain areas to ensure public safety.

Two access locations will be used to access the construction site; one at Christies Beach and one at Port Noarlunga.

Visit the City of Onkaparinga website for more information on the project.
