Women celebrated on the south coast

Two free events in Goolwa and Victor Harbor will round out International Women's Day celebrations at the end of this week.


The Haven at Goolwa will host a morning tea and discussion with local author Darry Fraser at the Goolwa Library onFriday 13 March.


This event will discuss the overlooked, unpaid labour of women who sustained 19th-century homes and workplaces and how the laws of the era continue to echo today.


It will run from 10.30am to 11.30am and booking is not required



The Zonta Club of the Fleurieu Peninsula will present its Fleurieu Women’s Expo on Sunday 15 March in Victor Harbor's Grosvenor Gardens.


The event is dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contributions of women throughout the Fleurieu region.


It is designed to highlight local achievements, showcase the diverse talents found within the community, and promote initiatives that drive and support positive change in the area.


Highlights will include informative exhibits spotlighting local projects and accomplishments; guest speakers; hands-on workshops; and family-friendly activities.


It will also feature local services that support women and families.


This free event will run from 11am to 2pm and a barbecue and coffee van will be on site.
