Resilience, particularly in the face of the world’s current challenges, was the focus for the latest Women in Business Regional Network lunch at the Middleton Tavern.
The guest speaker was Mount Compass business coach Holly Little from The Resilience Blueprint, and formerly Odyssey Coaching.
It was a practical session as those present were challenged to complete a questionnaire to determine their optimism level which, according to Holly, is often the trait that impacts resilience.
She outlined a five-part plan to build resilience, including developing optimism, learning to focus on what we want to achieve, empathy for others, accountability for what we’re responsible for and building the right community to support you.
“We may not be responsible for an event, but we are responsible for how we think about it, and how we respond to it,” Holly says.
She says we are responsible for our destiny by the way we respond to situations and challenges.
Holly also encouraged those present to think about their own goals and focus, without being swayed by others.
