Why do something twice when you could do it once? This was the question posed at the Women in Business Regional Network’s latest dinner in Strathalbyn at the Victoria Hotel.
The speaker was Samantha Docking of BOSS Business Office Support Systems in Port Lincoln. She has a focus on helping business owners get the right digital ‘stack’ to ensure they are only doing the tasks they need to do physically, and letting technology do the rest.
Those in attendance each had the chance to talk about their own digital stack and get a quick response from Sam on what could possibly be done to improve their efficiency.
Some of the areas looked at included accounting systems and the apps they work with to cut down on paper and keystrokes, sales platforms and staff rosters and timesheets.
The dinner also provided a chance for those in the room to reflect on what a difference 12 months makes.
Many recalled April 2020 when they feared for the future of their enterprises, to now, when many are struggling to keep up with the increased business and workload. Feeling tired was a common thread throughout the group.
The next Strathalbyn dinner is scheduled for Monday 7 June when the topic will be a little different, and more personal to some.
The guest speaker will be Port Pirie member Cheryl Bruce who will speak about her life and the lessons she has learned.
A trigger warning is issued for this presentation as it will cover issues such as the justice system, suicide and dealing with severe health issues in family members.
The Women in Business Regional Network is open to business owners, managers, staff and those dreaming of owning their own business. You don’t have to be a member to attend events, but bookings are essential via Eventbrite.
