Personal styling, positive mindpower and digital marketing were on the agenda for the Women in Business Regional Network in September, with functions in Victor Harbor and McLaren Vale.
Did you know that 85 per cent of women have clothes in their wardrobe they will never wear?
Wearing the right clothing for your brand was the focus of a personal styling presentation at the network lunch in Victor Harbor.
Jo Puplett, from Elevate Your Look at Moana, motivated attendees to assess the clothes in their wardrobe against their purpose, whether they were on trend and whether they still fitted.
She encourages women to find their signature style by thinking about their personality as well as their business and the message they want to convey.
Businesswomen from McLaren Vale and the Southern Suburbs were encouraged to change their mindset to achieve success when the network held its latest dinner at Meeting Place, McLaren Vale.
Mount Compass member Cathy Domoney explained how to clear the mind of negativity to focus on a life you want, using vision boards, writing down intentions and visualising an ideal life.
Other top tips included setting boundaries in work and personal life and closing off negative chatter from others.
The network returned to McLaren Vale for a lunch at Angoves on Wednesday, 25 September, when Helen Sampson from Jagged Crow Creative
ran a session called Digital Marketing 101, which covered social media, email marketing and options for websites.
The network will return to Victor Harbor on Monday, October 14 for lunch when a senior representative from Skilling SA will speak about employment and training opportunities, with a special focus on apprentices and trainees.
The next dinner will be at Meeting Place McLaren Vale on Tuesday 15 October, when Graeme Jameson of Fleurieu & Hills Insurance will speak about the ins and outs of business insurance.
The next dinner at Victor Harbor will be held on Thursday 31 October, when Mark Przibilla from the City of Victor Harbor will speak about the local economy – the challenges and opportunities ahead.
The Women in Business Regional Network is open to business owners, managers, staff and those dreaming of running their own business. You don’t have to be a member to attend events but bookings are essential via Eventbrite.com.au.
