Everyone has a story worth telling and Victor Harbor library will offer a creative non-fiction workshop next week for those keen to write it down.

Stories are how we make sense of our lives and sometimes we need a little help to dig them out and tell them.

Turning facts into a compelling story is at the heart of the Life Story Writing workshop, which will be held on Thursday 5 March from 10am to 1pm in the library’s community room.

Experienced writer and presenter Graeme Gibson will lead the workshop, which is suitable for almost any area of interest, from memoirs, history and travel to cultural experiences, travel diaries and feature articles.

It aims to support the writing endeavours of both beginners and experienced writers, using discussion and practical experience in a range of writing techniques.

The cost is $10. Book through Eventbrite and take along a pen, paper and some ideas.

Budding writers looking for their own community may also be interested in the Victor Harbor Writers Group.

It meets in the library at 10am on the first Thursday of the month. Gather with likeminded people to share inspiration and foster your writing skills.

Victor Harbor library is in the civic centre at at 1 Bay Road. For more details phone 8551 0730.
