The District Council of Yankalilla has set up a series of zoom meetings for its residents and ratepayers to give feedback on its budget and annual business plan.
The meetings will provide an alternative method of public consultation that conforms to current social distancing guidelines required because of COVID-19.
There is a legal requirement for all councils to produce the plan and budget that include a summary of their long-term objectives as set out in a strategic management plan.
Council says its draft 2020/21 Annual Business Plan and Budget document provides a complete overview of its financial position in reader friendly format.
The proposed budget aims to ensure financial sustainability in the medium to long term while still achieving the objects of its proposed Strategic Plan 2020-2030.
“Feedback from the community is a key factor in the development of our 2020/21 Annual Business Plan and Budget; it’s vital to ensure that council continues to deliver high quality services that our community needs.
“In recent years we have taken the community’s feedback on the proposed budget and incorporated it in the final plan to improve it and make it more relevant.
All the details and documentation to make an informed decision are available at council community engagement website.
