Young snappers sought to Shoot the South

A photography master who now lives in Aldinga is looking to snap up keen photographers aged 14-25 to participate in an upcoming event as part of the Shimmer Photography Exhibition in the City of Onkaparinga.

Shoot the South will be a series of photo essays of Onkaparinga life from a young person's viewpoint.

Prior to the shoot, participants will participate in a series of documentary photography masterclasses run by organiser and Australian Institute of Professional Photography Master Photographer, Milton Wordley.

During the Shimmer festival, the team will take photos which will appear online all month, and then be showcased at a public event on the festival's final weekend. There are also plans to exhibit a collection of the photographs at next year's Ballarat International Foto Biennale.

All photos must be taken within the City of Onkaparinga.

Milton has worked for publications such as The Australian and London's Daily Express.

He has a long association with the City of Onkaparinga; he attended Port Noarlunga Primary School and his grandparents ran the Port Noarlunga Hotel. Milton is now semi-retired and lives in Aldinga Beach.

Young people who love taking photos, want to document the world around them and improve their photography should consider applying.

Applications should include the applicant's name, age, photographic interests, the topic they would like to cover, and 10 recent photographs. Email applications to Milton Wordley via [email protected]

For more information, contact Milton on 0408 850 667.
