Young people in the City of Onkaparinga are recognised each year for their valuable contributions to their local community.
Nominations are now open for the Youth Recognition Awards, which honour and celebrate young people, aged from 8 to 25, for their achievements and actions.
There are five categories: Learning Success; Contribution to Community; Personal Achievement; Business, Employment & Social Enterprise; and Youth Worker of the Year.
Nominations can be made online; they close on Wednesday 1 March at 5pm.
The awards will be made during SA Youth Week on Monday 27 March at Port Noarlunga Arts Centre.
There is also an art competition associated with the Youth Recognition Awards, open to ages 8 to 25.
The winner will have the opportunity to showcase their talents at an exhibition during this year’s SALA Festival and be mentored by the Youth Arts Officer.
This year’s themes include the key priorities of Climate Change & The Environment; Mental Health; and Access & Inclusion. Submissions to the competition can be made online.
