Young people in the Alexandrina region are encouraged to join their peers for a variety of activities on the Fleurieu and the Adelaide Hills during SA Youth
Week (SAYW) this month.
SAYW is a celebration of South Australia’s young people with events and program running across the state that started on Friday 15 March and runs until Sunday 24 March.
Supported by the Department of Human Services, SAYW is held every year and celebrates youth, aged between 12 to 25, recognising their positive contribution to their local communities.
Alexandrina Council Mayor Keith Parkes says SA Youth Week is an opportunity to recognise the valuable impact young people make to a Liveable, Green, and Connected Alexandrina.
“Our young people are the next generation of community leaders. It’s important to support their development and provide them opportunities to
grow and connect.”
Some of the youth-focussed activities on offer in the region include youth groups, hang out groups, theatre and film, dance, art and craft and Dungeons & Dragons events in Milang, Goolwa, Victor Harbor, Strathalbyn and Mount Barker.
Full details of events around the state can be found on the Department of Human Services website.
Young people are encouraged to celebrate SAYW by participating in an event or activity in their local community.
