As part of its A2040 Community Strategic Plan, Alexandrina Council has introduced Village Innovation Plans and Annual Village Conversations.

This represents a new approach to how the council works with the community, now and into the future.

Through 'ground-up' community-driven consultation the council believes it can capture the ideas, values and voices of its communities to identify the unique needs for the villages, places and spaces within the region.

Outcomes from the annual Village Conversations will guide and influence how the council make decisions on future asset management plans and how it allocates resources within its long-term financial plan.

There will be separate conversations started in 14 villages throughout the region.

They include Ashbourne, Clayton Bay, Currency Creek, Finniss, Goolwa, Hartley, Hindmarsh Island, Langhorne Creek, Middleton, Milang, Mount Compass, Port Elliot, Strathalbyn and Woodchester.

The conversations are set to start with Milang in late April and continue throughout the year.

Village Innovation Plans will be developed for each township by 2024.

Anyone who wants to have a chat about their town can register to join the conversation by heading to My Say or by clicking on their chosen village.
