What could be more delicious than attending an afternoon tea in a lovely setting? The answer is contributing to a great cause while feeding your face.

Suffering from endometriosis can be debilitating, especially after undergoing a second round of surgery to treat it.

But Jaime Trewartha and her friend Megan Sherry refuse to let the painful condition flatten them, instead setting out to raise awareness and funds to help end endometriosis.

Jaime from Aldinga and Megan from Mount Compass will host a high tea on Sunday 28 March at the Aldinga Secret Garden, next to the football oval on Port Road.

Jaime says endometriosis affects one in 10 women Australia wide and funds are needed to work towards a cure.

“It is a common disease in which the tissue that is similar to the lining of the womb grows outside it in other parts of the body. 

“Endometriosis symptoms are so variable that this may contribute to the seven to 12 year delay in diagnosis.”

“This is why spreading awareness and raising funds is so important. For these statistics to improve we must do our best to show support to anyone fighting this horrible disease.”

Jaime and Megan are asking people to wear something yellow to the event to show their support for the fight against endometriosis.

The luxurious high tea starts at 3pm and will offer nibbles and drinks, raffles, a prize draw, music and a fun afternoon of relaxing and chatting.

The Aldinga Secret Garden, Harvest the Fleurieu, Lino Ramble Winery and Bracegirdles have generously sponsored the event.
