The vision for Southern Koala Rescue is to transform part of their property into a state of the art, purpose-built Koala Rehabilitation Centre. The Centre will include a triage area and hospital facilities, indoor and outdoor hospital wards, outdoor gunyah’s for koalas in long term care plus enclosures for echidnas and other native wildlife that come into care. The Centre will also have on site koala food plantations to assist with sustainable practices. The plans for the Koala Rehabilitation Centre are for it to be self-sufficient, e.g. run by solar panels/batteries and on rain and bore water, etc, so that in the event of a bushfire or other natural disaster the koalas and other wildlife won’t be impacted.

The initial estimated cost to build the Koala Rehabilitation Centre is $128,000. We are hoping to reduce that cost through donation of goods and services.
