Plans to develop the vacant land next to Aldi at 50-54 Adelaide Road in Hayborough have been lodged with Plan SA.
The plans are for two buildings to accommodate four retail outlets (shop or bulky good outlets) as well as parking, signage and landscaping.
If approved, the development will be the latest of many commercial constructions in the town.
Elsewhere in the town the new service station and Hungry Jacks development is well underway on the corner of Victoria Street and Oval Road.
The site for the new Mobil X service station at the corner of Adelaide and Port Elliot Roads (the former playcafe site) has recently been cleared for construction to start.
Nearby (next to Bunnings), site work is also underway for the construction of the new Wohlers furniture store.
Stage four of the main street upgrade was recently approved by council and is expected to commence in June.
Ocean Street and Albert Place will be closed to traffic for up to three months while the work is carried out.
The Comfort Inn motel in Victoria Place in Victor Harbor is currently on the market with Expressions of Interest closing on May 30.
The old Bank SA building in Ocean Street sold on April 14 for $2.255M.
