The Australian Electoral Commission says social distancing will be in force with equipment spaced out, markers and other signage providing guidance and queue controlling staff offering support.
Electoral Commissioner Tom Rogers has acknowledged that this may lead to longer wait times but asks the public to be patient while waiting and perhaps give staff a smile or thank you on their way through to vote.
