Plans have been lodged to build a childcare centre at 28-30 Hutchinson Street in Goolwa (across from the shopping centre).

The plans have been entered into the Plan SA Portal by Sareidal Pty Ltd and will be assessed by the Fleurieu Regional Assessment Panel.

The 1954m2 block is currently occupied by a residential house and was sold in August 2021 for $600 000.

In other planning news, in McLaren Vale the owners of Units 1, 2 and 3 at 230 Main Road are applying for permission to use the buildings as group dwellings, rather than short term accommodation.

Documentation on the planning portal says, “the change of use will improve the amenity of the locality with the current use being the source of noise complaints and anti-social behaviour due to parties” and “if it were not for the Casa Vino Luxury Villas accommodation sign on Main Road, the buildings would be interpreted as dwellings”.

The application is currently on public notification with residents able to make comment until midnight Tuesday 12 July

Elsewhere on the Fleurieu, the owners of the Greenman Inn in Ashbourne are planning to put a roof over their outdoor dining area and add an ‘entry statement’.

Strathalbyn Auto Electrical are planning a showroom extension to keep up with growing demand.

In Victor Harbor Sarah Homes have applied to remove two of the display homes and their sales office at 4-6 Hindmarsh Road in Hayborough and replace them with new ones.
