The Health Minister Chris Picton says four long-Covid clinics will be established by SA Health.
All four will be based in Adelaide.
The closest one for Fleurieu residents will be at the Flinders Medical Centre.
The others will be at the Womens and Childrens, Queen Elizabeth and Royal Adelaide Hospitals.
The clinics will be staffed by neurologists, immunologists cardiologists and other expert medical staff.
People are generally considered to have long covid if they are still displaying symptoms at least three months after their initial COVID-19 infection.
The most common symptoms are shortness of breath, cognitive dysfunction (brain fog) and fatigue and lethargy.
According to the SA Health COVID heatmap, 4761 people in the Alexandrina Council have been diagnosed with COVID during the pandemic so far. There are currently 447 active cases in the area.
Victor Harbor has had 2295 cases (237 currently active), Yankalilla District Council area 878 (83 active), Kangaroo Island 555 (59 current).
The Onkaparinga council area has registered 41 611 cases since the start of the pandemic, with 3 361 current cases.
GPs will refer patients to the new clinics.
Residents of the South Coast and other areas may be able to access the Medi Ride service to attend medical appointments in Adelaide.
It's been estimated that as many as 30% of COVID-19 patients will suffer from long Covid.
