SA Health have reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 today, including four children under the age of 12.
Two aged care health workers who work across “a number” of residential aged care sites in metropolitan Adelaide are amongst the eight other cases reported.
SA Health says they are contacting the affected homes and all residents and staff are being tested.
Additional infection control measures are also being implemented.
Six of the cases are not yet linked to a known infection.
A man in his 30s and a man in his 60s are in the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a stable condition.
The Aldinga and Christies Beach testing sites have been busy today as people get tested after an all-school assembly at Willunga Primary on Friday was declared a close contact site.
The Willunga Hotel also closed on Sunday evening and Monday after being notified by a member of the community that a COVID-19 positive case attended the hotel on Friday night.
In a post to Facebook yesterday Hotel management said “As yet we have not been contacted by Health SA despite phone and email enquiries.”
“As nearly all our staff worked on Friday we took the step of closing today isolating and getting covid tested.”
We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds and will respond on accordance to the government regulations.”
Thanks to the people who have kept us up to date (as much as possible).”
Community has been fantastic with support throughout the pandemic and I hope we all work together over the coming weeks to try and have some sort of normal Xmas. Our thoughts with everyone now stuck in quarantine.”
“To those who stuck their neck out to provide a heads up to the community, thank you. To SA Health, thanks for nothing.”
No other Willunga sites, including the hotel, have yet been listed as an exposure site by SA Health.
