Two Strathalbyn reserves may be sold and subdivided for residential land.
The Alexandrina Council is currently considering revocating the community status of the reserves on Formby and Sissons Streets and is seeking community feedback on the proposal.
The change in status would allow the reserves to then be sold and developed for housing.
Documents on the Council’s community consultation website describe both reserves as having, “limited community use”.
The Formby Street Reserve is 1469m2 in size and the Sissons Reserve is 3512m2.
It is envisioned that the Sissons Road reserve could be divided into four allotments of about 875m2, in keeping with other blocks in the area.
Council says their preliminary advice would be to recommend that the Formby Street site not be divided because it has less than 30m of street frontage.
Residents have until 5pm on Friday 20 May to have their say via the Alexandrina My Say website.
