Want to win books and vouchers simply by reading? The Onkaparinga Libraries Winter Reading Challenge is now on.

Readers aged five or over are challenged to read books from the Onkaparinga Libraries’ suggested list or another of their own choosing.

Register your progress and share your favourites (or even your least favourite) via the Libraries’ Beanstack page.

Readers who complete books from five different categories will go in the draw to win one of six $50 vouchers from QBD books or a selection of books.

Library reading lists include Christmas in July, Beach Reads, Recommended by the Librarian and First Nations Authors.

The City of Onkaparinga has libraries at Aldinga, Aberfoyle Park, Noarlunga, Seaford, Willunga and Woodcroft

The challenge ends on 31 August.

The libraries also now have two ReaderPens available for people who need assistance with reading.

The user can scan the device over written text and it will read the words out loud for them.

The Readerpens are helpful for people with reading and learning difficulties, dyslexia, vision impairment, low-literacy, dementia or memory loss.

The pens can be placed on hold and delivered to resident's local library for their use.
