The Onkaparinga council area is still without a Rapid Antigen Test collection point, despite the Premier saying on Monday that one was set to open “by the end of the week”.
As of this morning, there were eight collection sites open in South Australia.
The closest site for most residents of the Fleurieu and southern suburbs is the one opened in the city parklands last week.
The government opened a second metropolitan collection site at Osborne on Thursday, in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield council area.
Country collection sites have been opened at Streaky Bay, Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Ceduna and at Glossop in the Riverland.
The state government has not indicated that it plans to open a site anywhere on the Fleurieu.
On Monday Premier Marshall said, “Providing easy access to Rapid Antigen Tests for South Australians who are close contacts is another plank in our strong plan in response to the Omicron variant.”.
The government is advising people who don’t have immediate access to a RAT test and who are a close contact or have symptoms to use one of the PCR testing sites throughout the state.
The Victor Harbor testing clinic in George Main Road has multiple testing appointments available today.
SA Health reported 3777 new COVID cases yesterday and 11 deaths linked to the pandemic.
Two hundred and ninety people are currently being treated in hospital, including 29 in intensive care and six people who on a ventilator.
