Victor Harbor are through to the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) Grand Final after defeating Willunga by 45 points in the second semi-final at Mt Compass on Saturday. Willunga led by seven points at quarter time, before Victor Harbor kicked four goals to one in the second term to hold a 10-point lead at halftime. ‘Victor’ extended their lead in the third quarter to take a handy 16-point buffer into the last quarter. The ‘Roos finished strongly, kicking six goals to one, to win 17.8 (110) to 10.5 (65). Bryce Gibbs kicked three goals in a best-on-ground display, while Sam Overall also slotted three majors. Joining Gibbs in the best players for ‘Victor’ included Dylan Kleinig, Heath Treloar, Mitchell Brook, Benjamin Heaslip and Overall. Best players for the Demons were Liam Nye, Sean Beath, Harry Saunders, Jaxon Hams, Nick Scanlan and Cameron McDonald.McLaren Districts will face Willunga in Saturday’s Preliminary Final after defeating reigning premier Myponga-Sellicks by 31 points in the first semi-final at Willunga yesterday. Myponga-Sellicks started well to lead by 18 points at quarter time, before McLaren Districts kicked 15 goals to six in the last three quarters to win 18.8 (116) to 12.13 (85). Josh Vandermeer (4), Codey Ellison (3) and Daniel Marr (3) were the leading goalkickers for the Eagles, while Jake Spinks kicked four goals for the Mudlarks. Happy Valley won through to the 2025 Southern Football League (SFL) Grand Final after a thrilling five-point win over Port Noarlunga in the second semi-final at Aldinga on Saturday. ‘Porties’ started well to lead by 25 points at quarter time, before the Vikings hit back to trail by just six points at the long break. The Cockle Divers extended their lead to nine points at the last change, before Happy Valley kicked 2.2 to 0.0 in the final term to win 9.7 (61) to 8.8 (56). Nick Kraemer kicked two goals for Happy Valley, while Zac Sproule was the standout forward on the ground with five goals for Port Noarlunga. Best players for Happy Valley included Dylan Strickland, Harry Spacie, Jack Flett, Cooper Rogers, Sam Flett and Darnell Tucker. Victor Harbor are through to next week’s second semi-final after defeating McLaren Districts by 32 points in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) Qualifying Final at Yankalilla on Saturday. ‘Victor’ got off to a fast start to lead by 29 points at quarter time, and extended their lead to 30 points at the long break. Each side kicked 10 goals in the second half as Victor Harbor won 19.5 (119) to 13.9 (87). Harry Vincent kicked four goals in a best-on-ground display for the ‘Roos, while Brett Ellis and Daniel Marr kicked three goals each for the Eagles. Joining Vincent in the best players for ‘Victor’ included Ben Heaslip, Zac Dowling, Jaidan Kappler, Dylan Kleinig and Bryce Gibbs. Yesterday, the Bays started well to lead by 11 points at quarter time, before the Mudlarks hit back to take an 11-point lead of their own at halftime. A further seven goals to five in the second half saw Myponga-Sellicks win 14.13 (97) to 11.1 (67). Jake Spinks kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Mudlarks, and he was well supported by Kain Spinks, Liam Partridge, Hayden Sampson, Mitchell Wilkins and Ashton Hutchings. Zac Sproule was the standout forward on the ground with six goals (64 for the season) for Port Noarlunga, while Blake Aldridge kicked two goals for ‘Flaggies’. Western Districts’ quest for back-to-back undefeated premierships is one win away from fruition after they won their way through to the 2025 decider with a comprehensive 111-point win over Wisanger in the second semi-final in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) at Gosse yesterday. The Saints have now won 27 games in a row and look unstoppable for the flag. Yesterday, they led by seven points at quarter time, 34 points at halftime, and 37 points at the last change, before exploding in the last quarter with 12 unanswered goals to win 23.17 (155) to 6.8 (44). Lleyton Hedges (6), Brad Crabb (5) and Sam Jonas (4) were the leading goalkickers for Western Districts, while Ezra Forster, Timmy Turner and Khyal Stead kicked two goals each for the Panthers. Best players for Western Districts included Dylan Lockett, Jonas, Hedges, Josh Graham and Henry Hammat. Kingscote had an upset 20-point win over Dudley United at Wisanger today to book their spot in next Saturday’s preliminary final. The Hounds led at every change before winning 14.12 (96) to 11.10 (76). Kingscote skipper Paul Green kicked five goals, while Trae Lovering kicked three majors for Dudley United. Port Noarlunga warmed up for finals action with a 34-point win over Flagstaff Hill during round 18 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) at Flagstaff Hill on Saturday. Ironically these two teams will clash again, at the same venue, on Saturday in the Qualifying Final. Flagstaff Hill started well to take a handy 18-point lead at quarter-time, before Port Noarlunga hit back with eight goals to three in the second quarter to lead by 15 points at halftime. A further nine goals to five in the second half saw the Cockle Divers home 18.12 (120) to 12.14 (86). Zac Sproule (4) and Ryan Kelly (3) were the leading goalkickers for ‘Porties’, while Mason Carney (4), Nathan Beenham (3) and Blake Aldridge (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Falcons. Best players for the Cockle Divers included Nick Steele, Kelly, Sproule, Brodie Smith, Eduard Van den berg and Richard O'Grady. Brad Inglis kicked eight goals for Noarlunga to give him 85 majors for the season, while Jacob Campbell, Jak Goudman-Glasson and Nic Warner all kicked two goals for Ironbank Cherry Gardens. Luke Ross was named best-on-ground for the Shoes and he got good support from Jarrad Liebelt, Brad Inglis, Callan Hart, Jamison Snelling and Nick Mott. Reigning premiers Port Noarlunga are through to the second semi-final after defeating Flagstaff Hill by 13 points in the Qualifying Final of the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Morphett Vale yesterday. The game was tight throughout with Flagstaff Hill holding a slender one-point lead at the final change. However, ‘Porties’ finished best, kicking the only two goals of the last term, to win 7.5 (47) to 5.4 (34). Kalahni Howes kicked four goals for the Cockle Divers, while Jessica Couch and Melanie Koster kicked two goals apiece for the Falcons. Best players for Port Noarlunga included Maddy Craggs, Schanna L'Estrange, Nicole Campbell, Howes, Eilish O’Hanlon and Elizabeth Tracey. Flagstaff Hill’s best were Emma Hodgson, Sienna Chapman, Tiana Lush, Brooke May, Koster and Ebony Scanlan.Reynella has made their way through to the second week of the finals series after defeating Blackwood by 22 points in the elimination final at Aldinga yesterday.
