Myponga-Sellicks moved up to fourth spot on the ladder following their 18-point win against Goolwa/Port Elliot during round 13 action in the Great Southern Football League ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Myponga last Friday night. The game was a tight and low scoring affair with the sides locked at 2.4 (16) apiece at the last change. The Mudlarks finished strongly, kicking three unanswered goals in the final term, to win 5.4 (34) to 2.4 (16). Sarah Stanbury kicked two goals for Myponga-Sellicks, while their best players included Grace Deacon, Kimberley Gilbert, Nari Wright, Carla Humphrys and Brianah Kennewell. Best players for the Magpies were Jessica Bailey, Lilli Mitchell, Brooke Goslett, Lily Jenke, Ellie Fry and Rachel Wood.Yankalilla/Encounter Bay won their sixth game of the season after defeating Victor Harbor by 15 points. The Stingrays’ victory was set up by a strong first term that saw them lead by 24 points at quarter time. To their credit, Victor Harbor battled hard to outscore Yankalilla/Encounter Bay for the final three quarters, before the Stingrays won 6.5 (41) to 4.2 (26). Tyler Rigney Garrett was named best for Yankalilla/Encounter Bay with two goals and she was well supported by Kate Sanders, Tanya Littlely, Dani Brown, Halle James and Jemima Althorp. Olivia Nobbs, Tyla Millard, Danika Millard, Halle Crowe, Layla Woods and Lauren Cousins were named best players for the ‘Roos.Willunga remained undefeated after winning the Grand Final rematch against McLaren Districts by 13 points. McLaren Districts started well to lead by 12 points at quarter time, before the Demons hit back with a four goal to one second term to take a six-point lead at halftime. Noarlunga kicked an accurate 11.2 (68) to Cove 9.10 (64), as the Cobras were left to rue an inaccurate 1.5 in the final term. Best players for the Shoes included Callum Gaspari, Nick Mott, Jake Birch, Sam Goldfinch, Brad Inglis and Dylan Brockenbrow. Bailey Gaskin kicked his second goal of the match on the siren to give the Tigers victory, 16.7 (103) to 15.12 (102).
