Victor Harbor won their first Great Southern Football League (GSFL) ‘A’ grade premiership since 1999 after defeating McLaren Districts by 25 points in the grand final at Victor Harbor yesterday. The ‘Roos exorcised the demons from last season’s loss in the decider to take their first flag in 26 years. Yesterday, McLaren Districts started well with the breeze to lead by 13 points at quarter time. ‘Victor hit back in the second term with seven goals to two to take a handy 19-point buffer into halftime. McLaren Districts kicked four goals to two in the third term to reduce the margin to seven points at the last change. The ‘Roos had the wind in the last term, and they used it to their advantage, kicking three unanswered goals to win 14.8 (92) to 10.7 (67). Victor Harbor vice-captain Jackson Elmes kicked three goals in a best-on-ground display, while Harry Vincent, Sam Overall, Jaidan Kappler and Bryce Gibbs kicked two goals each. Josh Vandermeer (3), Codey Ellison (2) and Jackson Daniels (2) were the leading goalkickers for McLaren Districts. Joining Elmes in the best players for Victor Harbor included Zac Dowling, Kane Cooper, Gibbs, Ben Heaslip and Mitchell Brook. McLaren Districts’ best were Luke Mitton, Ellison, Brett Ellis, Lachlan Camm, Vandermeer and Daniels.In the other grades it was all green and gold with Myponga-Sellicks winning the other three grand finals played yesterday. In the junior colts, the Mudlarks defeated McLaren Districts by 24 points, the senior colts saw Myponga-Sellicks defeat Willunga by 22 points, while the ‘Muddies’ provided a huge upset in the reserves decider with a 45-point win over the previously undefeated McLaren Districts.

Victor Harbor are through to the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) Grand Final after defeating Willunga by 45 points in the second semi-final at Mt Compass on Saturday. Willunga led by seven points at quarter time, before Victor Harbor kicked four goals to one in the second term to hold a 10-point lead at halftime. ‘Victor’ extended their lead in the third quarter to take a handy 16-point buffer into the last quarter. The ‘Roos finished strongly, kicking six goals to one, to win 17.8 (110) to 10.5 (65). Bryce Gibbs kicked three goals in a best-on-ground display, while Sam Overall also slotted three majors. Joining Gibbs in the best players for ‘Victor’ included Dylan Kleinig, Heath Treloar, Mitchell Brook, Benjamin Heaslip and Overall. Best players for the Demons were Liam Nye, Sean Beath, Harry Saunders, Jaxon Hams, Nick Scanlan and Cameron McDonald.McLaren Districts will face Willunga in Saturday’s Preliminary Final after defeating reigning premier Myponga-Sellicks by 31 points in the first semi-final at Willunga yesterday. Myponga-Sellicks started well to lead by 18 points at quarter time, before McLaren Districts kicked 15 goals to six in the last three quarters to win 18.8 (116) to 12.13 (85). Josh Vandermeer (4), Codey Ellison (3) and Daniel Marr (3) were the leading goalkickers for the Eagles, while Jake Spinks kicked four goals for the Mudlarks. Best players for McLaren Districts included Matthew Raitt, Stuart Green, Ellison, Brett Ellis, Brodie Long and Marr. Happy Valley won through to the 2025 Southern Football League (SFL) Grand Final after a thrilling five-point win over Port Noarlunga in the second semi-final at Aldinga on Saturday. ‘Porties’ started well to lead by 25 points at quarter time, before the Vikings hit back to trail by just six points at the long break. The Cockle Divers extended their lead to nine points at the last change, before Happy Valley kicked 2.2 to 0.0 in the final term to win 9.7 (61) to 8.8 (56). Nick Kraemer kicked two goals for Happy Valley, while Zac Sproule was the standout forward on the ground with five goals for Port Noarlunga. Best players for Happy Valley included Dylan Strickland, Harry Spacie, Jack Flett, Cooper Rogers, Sam Flett and Darnell Tucker. Best for Port Noarlunga were Brodie Smith, Nathaniel Paredes, Richard O'Grady, Rhys Mckay, Sproule and Todd McKay.Flagstaff Hill are through to Saturday’s Preliminary Final after defeating Christies Beach by 20 points in the first semi-final at Port Noarlunga yesterday. ‘Flaggies’ held Christies Beach goalless in the first half as they led by 33 points at halftime. ‘Christies’ kicked five goals to three in the second half, however the Falcons prevailed 8.8 (56) to 5.6 (36). Ben Rossi was the only multiple goalkicker on the field with two majors for Flagstaff Hill, while their best players included Brad Kirk, Blake Aldridge, Brayden Heyward-Ferors, David Kearsley, Nathan Beenham and Aiden Grayson.
