Hahndorf consolidated their position in the top-four with a comfortable 107-run win against Nairne during round 10 action of the Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association (AEHCA) at Hahndorf yesterday. The Magpies win puts a three-game gap between themselves and the Razorbacks with eight rounds remaining in the season. Hahndorf batted first yesterday with Bradey Judd and Paul Allegretto adding 92 runs for the first wicket before Allegretto departed for 48 (52 balls). Judd continued on to make 67 (102), before Magpies skipper Dan Jenner combined with Noah Dunn to add 97 runs for the third wicket as the home side posted 3/269 from their 45 overs. Jenner top scored with 72 from 69 balls (9 x 4’s, 2 x 6’s), while Dunn finished with 48 not out from 43 balls (2 x 4’s, 3 x 6’s). Nairne got off to a slow start in the run chase as they slipped to 2/17, before skipper Robert Crook (56) and Zac Llewellyn (33) combined for a 67-run stand for the third wicket. Luke Timmins chimed in with 26 (32), but ultimately the Razorbacks were bowled out in the 34th over for 162. Six Hahndorf bowlers took wickets with Ryan Trafford-Walker (2/16), Curtis Montgomery (2/18), Dean Gore (2/35) and Allegretto (2/42) the multiple wicket takers. Lobethal go into the Christmas/NewYear break on top of the ladder in their quest for a fourth premiership on the trot after defeating Bremer Callington by seven wickets at Callington yesterday. The home side batted first with Alex Durbidge (60), Graydon Brand (53 not out), Michael Heath (42) and Nathan Fitzgerald (30) leading the Cobras to 5/211 from their 45 overs. Lobethal wasted no time in the run chase with opener Tanner King playing a blinder of an innings to finish with 134 not out from just 69 balls. His innings contained 11 x 4’s and 11 x 6’s! Mitch Weeks (28) and Daniel Norsworthy (23) played good support roles as the target was knocked off in the 25th over. Nathan Fitzgerald (3/52) took all three wickets for the Cobras. Woodside had a massive 225-run win over Macclesfield to consolidate third spot on the ladder with eight rounds to go. The Warriors batted first and amassed a huge score of 7/331 from their 45 overs. Five Woodside batsmen made half centuries in Noah Bell (67 not out), Tommy Baldock (62), Will Worthington (61), Chris Baschiera (59) and Dave Wescombe (54). Declan Long (3/51) was the leading wicket taker for the Redbacks. ‘Maccy’ reached 1/66 in the run chase through Connor Moore (28) and Oliver Llewellyn (21), before losing their last 9/40 to be bowled out for 106 in the 31st over. Shane Collins was the star with the ball for Woodside with 5/18 from seven overs, white veteran Aaron Galvin chipped in with 2/12.A double hat trick from Troy Blackwell has inspired Langhorne Creek to a tight, 24-run win against local rival Strathalbyn at Langhorne Creek yesterday. Blackwell, an SA Country representative, took wickets with the last three balls of his eighth over, before dismissing Strathalbyn’s Mark Abbott with the first ball of his ninth over. Blackwell has taken an amazing three hat trick’s in 2024 and finished with 6/31 from his nine overs. Earlier, Langhorne Creek put up 6/215 from their 45 overs with Ben Warren top scoring with 63 not out (64 balls) and he received good support from Adam Clements (39) and Dan Kropp (39). Jack Roberts took 3/33 (9) for the Stallions. Strathalbyn reached 4/177 in the run chase before Blackwell’s heroics saw them come up short on 9/191. Abbott top scored with 86 (109) for ‘Strath’.
