Reigning premier Port Noarlunga maintained top spot on the ladder after a comprehensive 100-point win against Aldinga during round 13 action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Port Noarlunga yesterday. The win was set up by a dominant first quarter from ‘Porties’, as they led by 49 points at the first change. A further seven goals to zero after quarter time saw Port Noarlunga win 15.11 (101) to 0.1 (1). Schanna L’Estrange kicked five goals for the Cockle Divers, while Abby Dittmar slotted four majors. Best players for ‘Porties’ included Zoe Flesfadar, Nasyah Turner, Dittmar, L'Estrange, Lucinda Bunge and Amelia Hardy. Reigning premier Western Districts won their 23rd consecutive match to wrap up the minor premiership after defeating Wisanger by 38 points during round 11 action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) at Gosse yesterday. The Saints won every quarter on their way to an 8.8 (56) to 2.6 (18) victory. Jordan Whittle kicked four goals in a best-on-ground display for Western Districts, while Brad Crabb kicked two majors. Other good players for the Saints included Joshua Graham, Timothy Larcombe, Billy Brind and Caleb Whittle. Mt Compass are just percentage out of the top-five after defeating reigning premier Myponga-Sellicks by 26 points during round 14 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) at Myponga yesterday. The home side led by eight points after a low scoring first quarter, before Mt Compass kicked eight goals to three in the second term to lead by 26 points at halftime. The second half was even, with both teams kicking five goals, as Mt Compass won 13.9 (87) to 9.7 (61). Nathan Hicks kicked six goals for the Bulldogs, while Darren Shillabeer and Hayden Sampson kicked three goals each for the Mudlarks. Best players for Mt Compass included Klaus Simons, Nathan Schulz, Nathan Hicks, Lochie Nash, Craig Merritt and Tom Vitkunas. Cove won their ninth game of the season and in the process handed reigning premier Port Noarlunga their first loss in 2025 during round 12 action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Hallett Cove on Sunday. The Cobras started well to lead by 20 points at the first change but by three-quarter time, the match was level. Cove finished the stronger, kicking the only two goals of the final term, to win 7.8 (50) to 5.6 (36). Angelique Dean was named best for Cove and she received good support from Ashleigh Need, Emily Risitano, Jaime Norup, Dana O'Brien and Tamara Harrison. Best for ‘Porties’ included Abby Dittmar, Maddy Craggs, Kalahni Howes, Zoe Flesfadar, Amelia Hardy and Hope Elliott.Ironbank Cherry Gardens won their second game of the season with a 27-point victory at Christies Beach. Ironbank Cherry Gardens skipper Olivia Walker-Obushak kicked four goals in a best-on-ground display as her side ran out winners 8.6 (54) to 4.3 (27). McLaren Districts consolidated third spot on the ladder after a come-from-behind nine-point win over Victor Harbor during round 13 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) at McLaren Vale on Saturday. ‘Victor’ led by nine points at the last change before the Eagles roared home, kicking the last four goals of the game, to win 16.8 (104) to 14.11 (95). Brett Ellis kicked three goals for McLaren Districts, while Jackson Elmes and Sam Basham also kicked three goals for Victor Harbor. Best players for McLaren Districts included Jamie Smith, Ellis, Brodie Long, Tom Fenoughty, Daniel Marr and Billy Chahla. Victor Harbor’s best players were Jaidan Kappler, Reece Kleinig, Ben Heaslip, Heath Treloar, Rhys Bartram and Sam Overall.Willunga won their 10th game on the trot to move to the top of the ladder after a comprehensive 96-point win at Yankalilla on Saturday. The Vikings won every quarter on their way to a 16.7 (103) to 3.3 (21) victory. Dylan Brown kicked four goals for Happy Valley, while their best players were Sebastian Oliver, Brown, Harry Vick, Sam Flett and Harry Davenport. Best players for the Falcons included Mitchell Johnson, D’Arcy Mitchell and Ben Jeffries. Christies Beach won their sixth game of the season with a comfortable 62-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens. ‘Christies’ led by just two points at halftime, before kicking 16 goals to six in the second half to win 24.18 (162) to 14.16 (100).
