Uraidla won their first game of the season after defeating Meadows by 118 runs during round 10 action in the Hills Cricket Association (HCA) at Uraidla yesterday. He was well supported by Mitch Makings (59) in a 200-run second wicket stand as Uraidla posted 4/296 from their 45 overs. Veteran Rohan Reid was the pick of the Meadows bowlers with 2/36 (8). Meadows battled hard in the run chase with Callan Blackwell (46), Oscar Tydeman (36) and Zack Robertson (25) the leading run scorers as the Bulldogs were bowled out for 178 in the 34th over. Ryan Grimmond was the best of the Kangarilla bowlers with 3/21 from his nine overs. Stirling moved six points clear on top of the HCA ladder after a comfortable six-wicket win over Scott Creek Ironbank (SCIB). Scott Creek Ironbank won the toss and chose to bat first and they got themselves into a good position through Aaron Thompson (47) and Lachlan Knight (32) at 1/92 in the 23rd over. From then on it was all Stirling as they took the last 9/64 to bowl SCIB out for 156. Jack Read (3/2), Zeke Hemming (2/23) and Charlie Fryer (2/23) were the chief destroyers for the Eagles. Stirling attacked from the start of the run chase with Read (24) and Harrison Webb (41) putting on 58 for the first wicket, before Mitch Jude (44 not out) and Kurt Zytnik (16 not out) saw their side over the line in the 32nd over. However, the top scorer for Lobethal was left-hander Sam Martin who made 86 from 64 balls (10 x 4’s, 2 x 6’s).
