Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association (AEHCA) won their second Meyer Shield title in a row today, after defeating Hills Cricket Association (HCA) by four wickets at Encounter Bay. It is the fifth Meyer Shield title for AEHCA overall, and the first time they have gone ‘back-to-back’. Hills batted first and were soon in deep trouble as they slumped to 5/18 with AEHCA opening bowler Nathan Fitzgerald tearing through the top order. Fitzgerald finished with the excellent figures of 4/27 from his 10 overs. Hills skipper Jake Turnbull was playing a lone hand for his side, before he was joined by Alex Heptinstall in a 31-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Turnbull was finally dismissed for 32 (88 balls), while Heptinstall departed in the final over for 31 (68 balls) with Hills dismissed for just 114. Brodie Clarke also bowled an excellent spell with 3/16 (10), while Mitch Weeks (2/16) and Matt Martin (1/16) were the other wicket takers for AEHCA. Alexandra & Eastern Hills got off to a shaky start in their run chase with both openers back in the shed with the score at 2/11. Matthew Harris (13) and Robert Crook then steadied the ship with a 30-run stand for the third wicket. Steven Huxter (8) joined Crook to add a further 35 runs for the fourth wicket as the reigning champions took control of the match. Hills took three more wickets before the winning runs came up in the 37th over. Crook went on to top score with 50 from 77 balls (6 x 4’s), the only half-century of the match. Adam Carthew (3/18) and Shaun Atkins (3/33) were the wicket takers for Hills. Alexandra & Eastern Hills will be the early favourites for the 2024 Meyer Shield as they will host the competition next January.

Mylor won their second game of the season with a convincing 10-wicket victory over Kangarilla during round 12 action in the Hills Cricket Association (HCA) on Saturday at Mylor. Former first-class cricketer Tom Plant was a big inclusion for Mylor and he played his part with 48 not out from 85 balls (4 x 4’s, 1 x 6) as the home team chased down Kangarilla’s paltry total of 81 in the 24th over. Plant was well supported by his opening partner Shane Maslin (29 not out) in an 82-run opening stand. Earlier, Kangarilla won the toss and elected to bat first with Che Martinsen and Carlos Venter adding 49 runs for the first wicket before Venter was dismissed for 21 (53 balls). Martinsen went on to top score with 34 (69 balls) but when he was dismissed, ‘Kangies’ lost 9/18 to be bowled out for 81 in the 36th over. Thomas Jensen bowled an excellent spell to finish with 4/15 (9) and he was well supported by Jesse Cooper (3/10) and Michael Warburton (2/22).Bridgewater won their second consecutive match following a five-wicket win over Mount Lofty at Heathfield on Saturday. The win puts the Raiders just one win outside the top-four with six rounds remaining in the season. Mount Lofty batted first and never got any momentum in their innings with Adam Carthew (34) the only Redcaps batsman to pass 20. It was the Raiders’ spinners that did all the damage with Justin Summerill (3/6) and Finn Sullivan-Llewellyn (3/17) sharing six wickets as Mount Lofty were dismissed for just 95. Bridgewater started their run chase in disastrous fashion as they slumped to 4/18, with Carthew doing most of the damage with 3/15 (6). Liam Sutcliffe (8) helped Jackson Hooper add 24 runs for the fifth wicket, but there was still plenty of work to be done at 5/42. Tom Miller (15 not out) joined Hooper in a crucial sixth-wicket stand worth 59 runs that saw Bridgewater get home in the 29th over. Hooper finished with 51 not out from 72 balls (4 x 4’s, 1 x 6). Stirling consolidated their spot in the top-four with a convincing seven-wicket win at Uraidla. The Demons batted first with Michael Parker (55 not out), and Tom Bassett (44) the mainstays in Uraidla’s innings of 7/167. The Eagles got off to a great start with Daniel Gonzalez and Jack Read putting on 111 runs for the first wicket in just 14 overs, before Read went for a hard-hitting 62 from 39 balls (8 x 4’s, 4 x 6’s). Gonzalez went on to score 62 not out (73 balls) as Webb brought up the winning runs in the 25th over with a six! Tom Proctor (2/16) and Daniel McDonough (1/37) were the wicket takers for Uraidla.Meadows moved to the top of the HCA ladder after defeating Aldgate in a high scoring encounter at Aldgate Oval. The home side batted first with Shaun Atkins 78 not out (2 x 4’s, 7 x 6’s), Jake Turnbull 77 (5 x 4’s, 5 x 6’s), and Mitch Thomas 54 (7 x 4’s, 1 x 6) the leading lights as the ‘Gaters’ posted 4/251 from their 45 overs. Meadows skipper Rohan Reid was the pick of the Bulldogs bowlers with 2/16 from seven overs. Meadows were always ahead of the run rate in the chase, but at 4/130 a partnership was needed as Simon Bates joined Reid at the crease. This pair added 61 runs for the fifth wicket before Bates went for 35. Two more wickets fell as Meadows were 7/218 with 34 more runs required for victory. Reid was still at the crease as he brought up his hundred and then the winning runs with a six to see the Bulldogs to victory in the 43rd over. Brenton Averats was the best of the Aldinga bowlers with 3/33 (8). Aldinga battled hard to bat out their 40 overs, finishing on 7/157, with Robert Lishmund (44), Wade Sutherland (28), and Seamus O’Flaherty (24) all making good contributions. Roberts (2/11) and Harding (2/34) completed fine all-round games with a couple of wickets each.Port Elliot consolidated second position on the ladder with a 34-run win against Myponga-Sellicks at Myponga. Liam Harris also chimed in with 21. Five Mudlarks bowlers took wickets with Mitchell Farquhar (3/23) and Vince Nizzola (2/24) leading the way. Myponga-Sellicks got off to a good start with Michael Tomlinson (32) and Ryan Haverty (22) adding 50 for the second wicket, but that was as good as it got for the home side as they were restricted to 8/109 from their 40 overs. Port Elliot’s Riley Paull did plenty of damage through the middle order with 3/5 from four overs. Liam Harris was the other multiple wicket taker with 2/16 (6).Encounter Bay moved up to third spot on the ladder following their convincing six-wicket win over Mount Compass. ‘Compass’ batted first and they were soon in strife as they slipped to 5/29. McLaren Districts batted first and they started well with Justin Twartz (22), Jim Ryan (21) and Stephen Nairn (14) making solid contributions. There wasn’t much else to say about the rest of the innings as the Crushers were bowled out for 110. It was a good effort from the Goolwa bowling lineup with Jayden Crees (SA Country), Josh Jones (ill), and James Lawrence (injured) all missing. Kingsley Vincent (3/14), Dean Vickery (2/17), Josh Andrewartha (2/19), and Andy Evans (2/26) stepped up to bowl McLaren Districts out. Strathalbyn moved back inside the top-four following a tight 11-run victory over Bremer/Callington at Callington during round 11 action in the Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association (AEHCA) on Saturday. The Stallions batted first with Luke Cousins (39 from 76 balls) the only batsman in the top-eight to reach double figures as ‘Strath’ slumped to 9/72. All appeared lost until number 11 Lachlan Cutting joined Kane Gaiter. This pair put on an invaluable last wicket partnership worth 52 runs with Cutting (2) surviving 25 balls before being dismissed. Kane Gaiter was the star with 46 not out from 83 balls (9x 4’s). Graydon Brand bowled an excellent spell to snare 4/8 (8), while Nathan Fitzgerald continued his great season with 3/18 (9). Alex Durbidge chimed in with 2/18 (5.5).The Cobras started solidly with a 26-run opening partnership between Johnny Fitzgerald (10) and Jai McMurtrie (30). Once the opening partnership was broken, steady wickets fell with Bremer/Callington in all sorts of trouble at 6/46. Jamesson Kelly (23) and Bradley Clements (18 not out) battled hard but ultimately the Cobras came up short, bowled out in the 30th over for 113. Skipper Brayden Gaiter took 4/31, giving him 21 wickets for the season, while Matt Abbott snared 3/34 (9). Nairne consolidated their position in the top-four with a comfortable 73-run win against Hahndorf at Nairne. The Razorbacks batted first and posted a solid total of 6/212 from their 45 overs with Robert Crook (59 from 82 balls), Brodie Clarke (54 not out from 66 balls) and Zac Llewellyn (39 from 42 balls) the main contributors. Former Razorback Michael Harden (2/49) was the only multiple wicket taker for the Magpies. Hahndorf battled hard but were never really in the run chase as they were bowled out in the 40th over for 139. Henry Hassold (25), Greg Hassold (23), and Henry Baker (20) were the only Hahndorf batsmen to reach 20. Six Nairne bowlers took wickets with left-arm spinner Nick Williams (3/14) the chief wicket taker. He was well supported by Chad Harrop (2/20) and Jack May (2/28). Langhorne Creek continued their undefeated season with a convincing seven-wicket win at home against Macclesfield. The Redbacks batted first and compiled what appeared a competitive total of 9/165 from their 45 overs. The innings was underpinned by a patient half century from Tom Filsell (50 from 106 balls). Tom Keough (25), Kieran O’Connell (20), David Caddle (19), and Josh Lewis-Burns (19) also made handy contributions. Veteran Ben Warren wound back the clock to snare 5/28 from his nine over spell. Langhorne Creek wasted no time in knocking off the total with Brodie O’Dea (52 from 59 balls), James Dawson (48 not out from 62 balls), and Jordan Whiting (32 from 26 balls) doing the damage for the Tigers as the winning runs were brought up with 20 overs to spare. Reigning premier Lobethal remained in second spot on the AEHCA ladder following a thrilling five-run win against local rival Woodside. The Tigers batted first with skipper Mitch Weeks leading from the front with a top-scoring knock of 67 from 76 balls (8 x 4’s, 1 x 6). Daniel Norsworthy made 37 (65 balls) and Matt Martin added a handy 21 (22 balls) down the order as Lobethal reached 184 before being bowled out in the 39th over. Shane Druwitt was the pick of the Warriors’ bowlers with the fine figures of 4/17 (7). Nick Johns (2/33), Jacob Moller (2/47), and Jeremy Druwitt (1/13) were the other wicket takers. Woodside got off to a disastrous start in the run chase with both openers back in the shed with the score at 2/1, before Tommy Baldock (15) and Dave Wescombe (29) joined with Brad Collins to get the Warriors back on track at 3/87. A middle order collapse of 3/2 once again put Lobethal back on top as Collins continued his defiant knock. Jeremy Druwitt chimed in with an important knock of 33 (56 balls) as he and Collins added 56 runs for the seventh wicket before Collins went for 76 (103 balls). Lobethal held their nerve to restrict Woodside to 9/179. Skipper Joel Harris (37) and O’Connor (27) led the way, but it was Noarlunga skipper Jason Scarff doing the damage with 4/21 from his eight overs, as the Bloods started to falter. Jamie Keers then wiped out the tail with 4/3 (3.5) as Port Elliot finished on 9/121 with the Bloods’ Seb Goldsmith unable to bat through injury.Mount Compass pulled off an amazing one-run victory against reigning premier Willunga in a low scoring game at Willunga. ‘Compass’ batted first and struggled their way through to the 36th over before being bowled out for 73. Scott McAvaney (15), Paul Barrett (14), and James Colley (12) were the only Mount Compass batsmen to reach double figures as five batsmen failed to bother the scorers. Willunga’s Simon Roberts had the incredible figures of 4/5 from eight overs (five maidens), while Rory Hanson took 3/4 (1.5). The Demons run chase started poorly as they slipped to 5/37 before James Whetstone (18) and Charles Papworth (14) led a recovery as Willunga reached 7/71, with just three runs required for victory. In a dramatic finish, the last three wickets fell for just one run to give the Bulls an amazing victory by the barest of margins. Joel Webber (2/8) and Josh Dalitz (2/8) were good contributors for ‘Compass’ with the ball, but it was skipper Aaron Dalitz who did all the damage. The big quick rattled Willunga with the amazing figures of 5/6 from 6.2 overs. Goolwa continued their undefeated season with a comfortable eight-wicket win against Aldinga. Aldinga batted first with Brenton Averats (14) the only batsman to reach double figures as they were bowled out for 63. Goolwa wasted no time in the run chase with Luke Giddings (13) and the returning Jesse Consalvo (42) adding 52 runs for the first wicket as the winning runs came up in the 17th over. Wade Sutherland was the successful bowler for Aldinga with 2/5 (2).McLaren Districts consolidated their spot in the top-6 with a hard-fought eight-run win against Yankalilla. Five Yankalilla bowlers took wickets with Aaron Smith (2/26), Ashley Madden (2/26), and Scott Wilson (2/39) leading the way. Yankalilla got off to a shaky start in the run chase, slipping to 3/36, before Aaron Smith joined Martin Sumner in a third wicket stand worth 80 runs until Smith departed for 57 from 66 balls (6 x 4’s, 1 x 6). Sumner eventually went for 27 (58 balls) as ‘Yank’ were put under pressure by the Crushers’ bowlers to eventually finish on 9/148, just short of victory. The Bays batted first and were under pressure as they slumped to 5/64, before Sam Hoffmann was joined by Zac Thompson. This pair added 58 runs for the sixth wicket before Thompson was dismissed for 20 (28 balls). Hoffmann was the standout for the home side as he finished on 94 not out (116 balls) with his knock including 10 boundaries and two sixes. It was a good recovery from the Bays as they finished on 9/173 from their 40 overs. Four Mudlarks’ bowlers took wickets with Euan Maclachlan the standout with 4/25 (8). He was well supported by Ryan Haverty who snared 3/41 (6). After losing Sean Haverty (0) early, Ryan Haverty and Bradley Hill put together a handy 63-run partnership for the second wicket which was broken when Hill went for 16 (51 balls). Ryan Haverty continued on to top score with 61 from 92 balls (7 x 4’s), but he received little support as the visitors were bowled out in the final over for 135. Bridgewater wasted no time in the run chase as veteran Luke Hoyle smashed a quickfire 78 not out from 56 balls (8 x 4’s, 6 x 6’s), and added 82 runs for the second wicket with Will Fearnhead (21 not out), as the Raiders brought up the win in the 18th over. Morbey was the only wicket taker for Aldgate with 1/61 (5.1). It was a game of two collapses as Mylor hosted Scott Creek Ironbank (SCIB), with the visitors coming out on top by 15 runs. SCIB batted first and got themselves in a great position at 1/85 as Adam Shearwood (42) and Tom Watton (31) added 65 runs for the second wicket. The loss of Watton precipitated a dramatic collapse of 9/31 with the visitors being dismissed for just 116 in the 41st over. Skipper Michael Warburton was the main destroyer for Mylor with 4/14 (9). He was well supported by Alan Cooper (3/26) and Matthew Steadman (2/21). Mylor were cruising at 1/79 and a second win on the trot seemed a certainty, as Adrian Gaunt (53) and Shane Maslin (22) added 76 for the second wicket. What followed was a stunning collapse as the ‘Pipers’ lost their last nine wickets for just 22 runs to be bowled out in the 28th over for 101. A couple of ‘unsung heroes’ did all the damage for Meadows with Ryan Clarke (4/23) and David Bates (3/31) snaring seven Stirling wickets between them. Brad Louch chimed in with 2/12 (5). Meadows were in early trouble at 2/21, before Luke Tonkin (44) and Marko Kovac (16) combined for a 62-run third wicket partnership. Once Tonkin and Kovac were dismissed, Meadows were on the back foot at 4/95 as veteran Haydn Reid was joined at the crease by Clarke in the 31st over. This pair kept the scoreboard ticking over until five runs were required by the Bulldogs off the last over to win. Scores were level with two balls remaining as Haydn Reid hit a boundary off the penultimate ball of the innings to wrap up a very important victory. Reid finished with 52 not out (69 balls), while Clarke ended up with 23 not out (33 balls). Charlie Fryer took 2/35 for Stirling.Kangarilla now sit just percentage outside the top-four after a tight seven-run win at home against Uraidla. ‘Kangies’ batted first and posted a solid 6/171 from their 45 overs. Lachlan Knight continued his good season with a top-scoring 55 (94 balls). He received good support from Carlos Venter (25), Ryan Grimmond (25), and Ben Evans (22). Daniel McDonough was the pick of the Uraidla bowlers with figures of 3/23 from seven overs. Uraidla got themselves into a good position as Peter Wilson and Jay Temme (18) put on 68 for the second wicket with the visitors reaching 1/96 in the 30th over until Wilson was dismissed for 63 from 103 balls (5 x 4’s, 2 x 6’s). Regular wickets continued to fall with Baxter Knuckey, in his first ‘A’ grade game for the season, claiming 4/24 (9). Grimmond (3/39) and Ben Evans (2/28) were the other multiple wicket takers for Kangarilla as Uraidla finished their 45 overs on 9/164. Jack Purdie, batting at number 10, scored 21 not out (15 balls) for the Demons. Mount Lofty had the bye.Ladder - after round 11Mount Lofty 42, Meadows 39, Stirling 36, Aldgate 33, Kangarilla 33, Scott Creek Ironbank 30, Bridgewater 21, Uraidla 18, Mylor 12.Round 12 fixtures (14/1/23) - home team named firstAldgate v MeadowsMount Lofty v BridgewaterMylor v KangarillaUraidla v StirlingScott Creek Ironbank has the bye

The Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association (AEHCA) competition resumes on Saturday after the Christmas/New Year break, with four interesting games in round 11. Langhorne Creek has been the standout side so far in 2022/23, sitting undefeated on top of the ladder. Reigning premier Lobethal are in second spot and look to be a major threat again, as do 2020/21 premier Nairne. In their second season back in ‘A’ grade ranks after a long hiatus, Macclesfield has been the real ‘surprise packet’ so far this season with five wins to sit just inside the top-four. Strathalbyn and Bremer/Callington are still well and truly in the hunt, while Woodside and Hahndorf will be looking to upset a few teams on the run home.Daniel Jenner (Hahndorf) 358 runs, Luke Cousins (Strathalbyn) 329, Daniel Kropp (Langhorne Creek) 294, Shannon Howie (Bremer/Callington) 241, and Kieran O’Connell (Macclesfield) 222, are the top-five run scorers after round 10. After multiple missed weeks due to weather and low player numbers, perfect summer weather greeted the players this week. Strath started at bat, showing tremendous growth in discipline, swinging (mainly) for strikes, and having a good go at hitting to get the ball in play. Eva Eglitis made the dig’s only safe hit. Eva took to the pitching stripe (to catcher Jack Walters) and in just two pitches had made two putouts to first base. The rest of the inning wasn’t so smooth, with Hahndorf ending with seven runs, mainly on walks. Strathalbyn continued their aggressive batting and base running in the second inning with Jack,  Eva and Nate Spinks (filling in from U10 modball in his first game up in U14) all making it home. Lindsay Butler took over pitching to Poppy Groom in the second inning and worked hard to get the ball in the zone, a couple hits to Hahndorf amongst the walks saw them score another seven runs. The third and final dig saw Strath hit their stride, with seven out of eight players making it on base and home. In reply with the bat, Hahndorf made a run before two quick outs. Strath couldn’t quite get the third out, despite some great attempts at steals around the diamond. Hahndorf scored two more runs before time was called with a 17-13 victory. The team will now take a mid-season break, with Christmas and some country championships seeing an extended hiatus until February. Hills Softball Association ‘A’ Grade Women (Strathalbyn v Hills Heat Masters)After a mild night the previous Friday the teams shivered through the final game for the first half of the season with Masters up to bat first. They had a safe hit to Hantie Pretorious and a home run to Meg Chaplin to bring in two runs with Strath’s shortstop Kim Cutting making an out at first and Rebecca Sims taking two catches at left field to end the innings. Strath’s Cutting got on base but could not make it home as they were held scoreless in their first turn at bat with Masters making two outs at first and pitcher/catcher combo Kel O’Brien to Gab Martin getting a K2.Strath held Masters scoreless in the second with Cutting recovering quickly after a misfield to make the out at first, fielding and throwing to Ashlee Peterson at third for the second and Sims again taking a catch at left field to send them from the diamond. Sims made a safe hit to the outfield in Strath’s second turn at bat but could not make it around the diamond with Masters centrefielder Mis Ausman taking a catch, another K2 and a catch taken at first by Julie Briggs to end the innings.Masters added seven runs to their tally with a safe hit to Kerry Wilkinson, two basers to Chaplin and Martin and a three baser to Pretorious with Cutting making another out at first, Peterson also making an out at first and new pitcher Emily Eglitis fielding and making the third out at first base. Strath had safe hits to Eglitis and Chloe Zakelj and a walk to Cutting to bring in two runs in their third batting dig with Masters making another K2 and catches taken at first and third to send Strath from the diamond. The fourth turn at bat for Masters gained a further three runs and included a three base hit to Chaplin who was having a great game with the bat before Strathalbyn’s new pitcher Taminka Wilks fielded and threw to Cutting for an out at second who then quickly threw to Sims now at first for the double play and Cutting making the third out at first base. Rebekah Mayes had a big hit to centrefield to get her on base in Strath’s fourth batting dig but Masters second baser Kendall Langford took a catch, Pretorious now at shortstop threw to Langford to make an out at second and Langford making the third out at first base to hold Strath scoreless again.Strath held Masters to two runs in the fifth with Cutting making another out at first, pitcher/catcher combo of Wilks to Mayes working well gaining Wilks’ first K2 in A grade and Peterson fielding and throwing from third to first to end the innings. Cutting, having a great game, had a two base hit to left field and stole home for the only run of Strath’s fifth innings with Masters making an out at second and two outs at first leaving Zakelj stranded on second base. Final scores for the game were Masters 12 defeated Strathalbyn 3.Hills Softball Association ‘C’ Grade Women (Strathalbyn v Pirates)In the last game before the Christmas break, Pirates came in to bat and had two base hits to Kerry Elliot and Tracey Pearce and safe hits to Krista Elliot, Charlene Klenke, Debbie Taylor and Leonie Beattie which all helped to bring in the full ten runs with Strath’s pitcher Rebecca Sims fielding and throwing to Jackie Marsh at first for the out and then combining with catcher Hannah Jones for a K2. Strath came in to bat and gained a walk to Annabel McGregor, safe hits to Jess Rumble, Jo Falkland and Marsh and a two base hit to Sims but could only bring two runners home with Pirates third baser Klenke taking a catch, making an out at first and then fielding and playing her base to be involved in all three outs to end Strath’s innings.Pirates second turn at bat also produced ten runs with safe hits to Klenke, Kerry Elliot and Sue Stewart with a two baser to Stephanie Zuzolo with Strath’s fielders having to work hard in the field running down the balls but doing a great job especially being a player short with Rumble playing well at second base fielding and throwing to first for an out and then fielding and playing her base for the second. Strath’s second turn at bat was better with safe hits to Heidi Samuel, Jones, Sims and Marsh with Pirates making two outs at first and short stop Zuzolo taking a catch to end the innings and the game. Final scores were Pirates 20 defeated Strathalbyn 7.

Mylor won their first game of the season with a five-wicket victory over the previously undefeated Mount Lofty during round 10 action in the Hills Cricket Association (HCA) on Saturday. In what is the biggest upset of the season so far, the Pipers proved too good for the Redcaps on a beautiful day for Cricket at the picturesque Mylor Oval. Mount Lofty batted first and got off to a good start through openers Nick Justice (35) and Josh Healey (32) who added 58 runs for the first wicket. Mylor hit back well with no other batsman reaching 20 for the Redcaps as they were bowled out for 142 in the 44th over. Todd Dellatorre was the destroyer for the Pipers with 4/25 (8.5), while Oliver Barnes bowled a tight spell to finish with 2/17 (9). Mylor lost Tom Quinn (0) early before Adrian Gaunt (23) and Ben James (36) added 60 runs for the second wicket. Handy contributions from Shane Maslin (19) and Alex Kern (13) took Mylor within sight of victory before Barnes (20 not out) and Dellatorre (12 not out) added 33 for the sixth wicket to see the home side over the line in the 31st over. Cole Davy (21) and Carlos Venter (45) steadied the ship before a middle order collapse, brought on by Jack Read taking 3/31 (9), left the visitors in dire straits. All looked lost until Ryan Grimmond was joined by number 11 Jack Evans. This pair put a big scare through the Eagles ranks with a last wicket partnership ending just eight runs short. Grimmond finished with 36 not out, while Jack Evans made 20 not out. Chris Shaw (2/35) was the other multiple wicket taker for Stirling.Scott Creek Ironbank (SCIB) produced an excellent run chase to win their third game of the season and keep their finals hopes alive after defeating Uraidla by seven wickets. Beau Thomas (3/38), Daniel Key (3/49), and Daniel Desengo (2/38) were the multiple wicket takers for SCIB, while Andy Adams bowled a miserly spell of 1/15 from his nine overs. Scott Creek Ironbank got off to a good start with an opening stand of 69 runs between Adam Shearwood (23) and Devin Payne. Payne was joined shortly after by the veteran Adams and this pair basically put the game to 'bed' with a 116-run partnership for the third wicket before Adams went for 51 (58 balls). Payne continued on to top score with 88 not out from 102 balls (14 x 4’s, 1 x 6) with the winning runs coming up in the 35th over.Rohan Reid scored his third hundred of the season to lead Meadows to a comfortable 79-run win against Bridgewater at Meadows Oval.
