In one of the games of the season, Christies Beach moved back to the top of the  Southern Football League (SFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s ladder after defeating Port Noarlunga in a thriller by just four points. Less than a goal separated the sides at the end of each quarter before ‘Christies’ prevailed 6.3 (39) to 5.5 (35). Neriah Mills kicked three goals for Christies Beach, while teammate Chelsea Salvemini kicked two. Port Noarlunga had all individual goalkickers. Best players for the Saints included Tallara Power, Paige Simmons, Salvemini, Mills and Naomi Jones. Best for ‘Porties’ were Jolie Malinowski, Bree Chapman, Lorelai Jeisman, Amber O’Hanlon, Siobhan I’Dell.Flagstaff Hill kept their finals hopes alive with a big 200-point win against Hackham on Sunday. The Falcons led by 48 points at quarter time, 101 points at halftime, and 148 points at the last change, before winning 30.20 (200) to 0.0 (0). ‘Flaggies’ had 11 different goalkickers with Emily Brockhurst kicking a whopping 13 majors, giving her 42 for the season. Rachel Crockart and Jasmine Partridge chimed in with three goals each for the reigning premiers. Best players for Flagstaff Hill included Elizabeth Johnson, Brockhurst, Chloe Meyers, Brooke Watson and Emma Hodgson. Hackham’s best included Tiarna Power, Claire Wheeler and Krista Mitchell.Noarlunga won for the third time in their inaugural season after defeating Aldinga by 79 points. The Shoes led by 41 points at halftime, before kicking a further six goals in the second half to win 12.9 (81) to 0.2 (2). Sarah Stanbury (3), Shannon Astley (2) and Febi Mansell (2) were the multiple goalkickers for Noarlunga, while their best players were Megan Weetra, Stanbury, Shaylee Hobbs, Elyshiah Forrest and Colette Barnard. Best players for the Sharks included Tayla Mousley, Nikki Duggan and Olivia Cumming. Reynella kept the pressure on for a top-two spot with a comfortable 53-point win against Cove on Sunday at Hallett Cove. The Wine Flies put the game to bed in the first half as they took a convincing 50-point lead to the long break. The second half was a real slog with no goals scored as Reynella ran out winners 7.14 (56) to 0.3 (3). Shanique West was the leading goalkicker for the Wine Flies with two majors. Reynella was best served by Zannah Loxton, Jessica Redigolo, Anja Bancevic, Caitlin Walter and Casey Northcott. Cove kept their finals hopes alive with an important 46-point win against Port Noarlunga during round 15 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) at Hallett Cove yesterday. The Cobras won every quarter on their way to a 18.12 (120) to 10.14 (74) victory. Lincoln Holder and Ryan Need kicked four goals each for Cove, while Ciaran O’Hagan kicked three goals for the Cockle Divers. Best players for the Cobras included Michael Galley, Scott Abbott, Holder, Dean Hancock and Jayden Morton. Best for Port Noarlunga were Billy Cook, Gary Karpany, Darren Walters, Tom Redden and O’Hagan.Flagstaff Hill continued their undefeated season after defeating Morphett Vale by 34 points yesterday. Morphett Vale led by six points at halftime in a low-scoring encounter, before ‘Flaggies’ took over in the second half, kicking six goals to one, to run out winners 8.16 (64) to 4.6 (30). Victor Harbor showed off their premiership credentials with an excellent 52-point win against reigning premier McLaren Districts during round 15 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) at McLaren Vale yesterday. It was the fifth consecutive win for ‘Victor’, and puts them in a great position to secure the all-important double chance with finals just four weeks away. Yesterday, the ‘Roos started well to lead by 23 points at quarter time, and after an even second term, their lead was still 23 points at halftime. The third term would prove crucial as Victor Harbor kicked five unanswered goals to take a commanding 52-point lead at the last change, before they went on to win 16.14 (110) to 8.10 (58). Jackson Elmes (4), Daniel Stock (4) and Michael Ross (3) were the multiple goalkickers for 'Victor', while Codey Ellison kicked three majors for the Eagles. Best players for the ‘Roos included Zac Dowling, Jesse McKinnon, Elmes, Rhys Mutch and Ryan Fletcher. Darcy Clifford, Malakai Kartinyeri and Jackson Dalitz all kicked two goals for Langhorne Creek, while Tom Pinyon slotted three majors. Jayden Scott kicked three majors for the Mudlarks, while Ben Davis kicked two for Encounter Bay. The Demons led by 94 points at halftime, before kicking a further 11 goals to one in the second half to win 26.15 (171) to 1.4 (10). Willunga had an impressive 11 goalkickers including Jed Redden (7), Danny Juckers (6) and Daniel Lee (4) leading the way. Jack Fitzgerald kicked the only goal for the Tigers. Christies Beach moved a step closer to wrapping up the all-important double chance after defeating Reynella by 15 points during round 12 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition yesterday. The first half was tight with Reynella holding a slender four-point lead at halftime. ‘Christies’ came out firing in the third quarter, kicking three goals to none, before running out winners 5.4 (34) to 3.1 (19). Chelsea Salvemini kicked three goals for the Saints, while the Wine Flies’ three goals were kicked by Caitlin Walter, Angelica Ranieri and Madison Bennett. Best players for Christies Beach were Angelique Dean, Salvemini, Evelyn Goldsmith, Brooke O’Brien and Tallara Power. Reynella's best were Indiana Barbour, Jessica Redigolo, Ranieri, Sarah Bourn and Sophie Bradford.Cove consolidated their spot in the top-four with a comfortable 59-point win against Noarlunga. Cove led by 18 points at the last change before kicking six goals to none in the last term to win 12.8 (80) to 3.3 (21). Makayla Brown (4), Ella Gill (2) and Emma Willoughby (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Cobras, while Karlee Moffatt kicked all three goals for the Shoes. The Demons led by 16 points at quarter time, 20 points at halftime, and 36 points at the last change, before winning 9.18 (72) to 0.0 (0). Sarah Wright kicked three goals for Willunga, while Lauren Clifton kicked two. Best players for the Demons included Clifton, Ada Anninos, Abby Woodward, Kirstin Remfrey and Wright. Myponga-Sellicks won their 10th game of the season after defeating reigning premier McLaren Districts by 47 points at Myponga during round 14 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) yesterday. The Mudlarks led by 28 points at halftime, before kicking five goals to two in the second half, to win 11.8 (74) to 4.3 (27). Sam Kennedy kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance for Myponga-Sellicks, while Matthew Merrett kicked two goals for the Eagles. Joining Kennedy in the best players for the Mudlarks were Thomas Carroll, Anthony Kempster, Luke Whitford and Jake Spinks. The first quarter was even with scores level at 3.2 (20) apiece at the first break. From then on it was all the Vikings, as they kicked 11 goals to four on the way to winning 14.11 (95) to 7.8 (50). Corey Grocock kicked four goals for Happy Valley, while Lincoln Holder and Jayden Morton kicked two goals each for the Cobras. Best players for the Vikings included Tain Smelt, Grocock, Joel Beeche, Matthew Lillis and Jayden Little. The Cobras were best served by Cameron Wilton, Dean Hancock, Ben Morrison, Cooper Greening and Morton. Reynella kept the pressure on for a top-two spot after defeating winless Christies Beach by 67 points at Bice Oval yesterday. Emily Brockhurst was the only multiple goalkicker on the ground with two goals for the Falcons. Willunga and McLaren Districts did battle in a classic encounter as the minor round wrapped up in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) FPAG ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition. The two teams will clash again in the Qualifying Final next Sunday for a spot in the 2023 decider. On Friday night, Willunga came from 16 points down at halftime to triumph 4.7 (31) to 4.5 (29). It was the reigning premiers 10th consecutive win, with their only loss coming at the hands of McLaren Districts back in round four. Best players for the Demons were Ruby Thomas, Lauren Clifton, Tessa Kohn, Katrice Turner and Ada Anninos. McLaren Districts were best served by Sam Pratt, Ally Bailey, Gwen Humphreys, Katrina Munzberg and Emily Rowe, while Kiahni Russell kicked two goals for the Eagles.Goolwa/Port Elliot warmed up for finals action with a comfortable 36-point win against Myponga-Sellicks. The Magpies won every quarter on their way to a 6.6 (42) to 1.0 (6) triumph. Indi Miller kicked two goals for Goolwa/Port Elliot, while Meesha Parsons kicked the only goal for the Mudlarks. Reigning premier Western Districts remain undefeated following their comprehensive 104-point win against Parndana during round 11 action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) at Gosse yesterday. The Saints led all day before running out winners 18.10 (118) to 1.8 (14). Lleyton Hedges kicked five goals for the Saints (38 for the season), while Josh Graham kicked three. Ben Xifaras kicked the only goal for Parndana. Caleb Whittle, Nathan Stock, Tim Larcombe, Wade Tucker and Brad Crabb were named best players for Western Districts. Best for the Roosters included Trad McMulkin, Zach Trethewey and Frank May.Wisanger all but wrapped up the double chance with a comfortable 78-point win against Dudley United. The game was tight at quarter time with Wisanger leading by just seven points. The Panthers kicked into gear after the first break, kicking 14 goals to four, before winning 16.18 (114) to 6.0 (36). Frank Packer was the most dominant forward on the ground with five goals for Wisanger, while Timmy Turner, Luke Stewart and Khyal Stead all kicked two majors.
