Flagstaff Hill consolidated their spot in the top-four after defeating Hackham by 87 points during round nine action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Hackham yesterday. The Falcons led by 38 points at halftime, before kicking a further seven unanswered goals in the second half to win 13.9 (87) to 0.0 (0). Jessica Couch and Amber Cloughessy kicked four goals each for the Falcons, while their best players were Rachel Crockart, Chloe Meyers, Brooke Watson, Elise Winton, Nicole O'Connor, Cloughessy. Best for the Hawks included Charlotte Carter, Nevara Richards, Alisha MacFadyen, Alana Browne, Melissa Belmont, Shayley MacFadyen. Cove won their fifth game of the season following a comfortable 76-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens. The Cobras led throughout to win 10.18 (78) to 0.2 (2). Emily Risitano (4), Ella Gill (2) and Jaime Norup (2) were the leading goalkickers for Cove. The Cobras had plenty of good players including Norup, Angelique Dean, Gill, Dana O'Brien, Breanna Stoldt and Brittnie Edwards. Yankalilla/Encounter Bay won their third game of the season after upsetting Goolwa/Port Elliot by 14 points during round 11 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Willunga yesterday.  The Stingrays led by six points at halftime, before running out winners 5.6 (36) to 3.4 (22). Matisse Hunter was the only multiple goalkicker in the match with three majors for Yankalilla/Encounter Bay. The Stingrays best players were Iilish Ross, Madison Russell, Tyler Rigney-Garrett, Tahlia Parsons, Hunter and Chloe Howlett. The Magpies were best served by Megan Hoad, Indigo Miller, Cassie Burrows, Jessica Bailey, Georgina Thomas and Rachel Wood.Willunga maintained top spot on the ladder after a convincing 70-point win over Myponga-Sellicks. Myponga-Sellicks consolidated their position in the top-five with a nail-biting four-point win against reigning premier McLaren Districts during round 10 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) at Myponga on Saturday. The game was tight all day with McLaren Districts holding a slender four-point lead at three quarter time. Buoyed by their home crowd, Myponga-Sellicks finished well, kicking three goals to two in the last quarter, to win 10.13 (73) to 10.9 (69). Darren Shillabeer kicked three goals for the Mudlarks, while Henry Mathews and Matthew Merrett kicked two goals each for the Eagles. Best players for Myponga-Sellicks were Ben Kennedy, Sam Kennedy, Connor Sampson, Mitchell Wilkins, Jack Cooper and Justin Whitford. The Eagles were best served by Ashley Goodieson, Henry Mathews, Merrett, Darcy Brown, Brett Ellis and Lachlan Mathews.Encounter Bay moved up to second spot on the GSFL ladder after defeating Willunga by 16 points at Willunga yesterday. The first half was tight with the Bays holding a three-point lead at halftime. Four goals to one in the third quarter from the Bays saw them take a handy 22-point lead into the last quarter. Willunga battled hard in the final term, before Encounter Bay prevailed 11.8 (74) to 9.4 (58). Kyron Pepper kicked four goals for the Bays, while Tyson Hoffmann also kicked four majors for the Demons. Callum Tonkin was excellent in the ruck for the Bays and he was well supported by Pepper, Tyler Baldock, Marcus Lippett, Kyle Hayter and Oliver Price. Christies Beach moved within a game of the top-five after an upset seven-point win against Noarlunga during round 10 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) at Old Noarlunga today. Noarlunga got off to an excellent start to lead by 25 points at quarter time, and they still led by 21 points at the main break. From halftime onwards however, it was all Christies Beach as they kicked six goals to two to win 11.6 (72) to 10.5 (65). Christies Beach skipper Michael Mazey kicked four goals, while Tom Anderson kicked three goals for the Shoes. Best players for the Saints included Josh de Roode, Mazey, Jace Daris, Thomas Kirwan, Nathan Sable and Austin Hogg. The Mudlarks led throughout to win 6.13 (49) to 0.3 (3). Grace Deacon kicked four goals for the Mudlarks in a best-on-ground performance. Other good players for Myponga-Sellicks included Imogen Harney, Felicity Whiley, Amy Veron, Charlie Shaw-Mcmillan and Tasiah Wright. The Bays’ win was set up by a dominant first quarter as they took a 27-point lead at quarter time. They extended their lead out to 32 points by the last change, before the Mudlarks won the last quarter. The final scores were Encounter Bay 10.9 (69) to Myponga-Sellicks 7.11 (53). Tyson Neale and Kyron Pepper kicked two goals each for the Bays, while Darren Shillabeer was the standout forward on the field with six goals for the Mudlarks. Best players for Encounter Bay were Callum Tonkin, James Bradford, Cory Gamble, Jarran Crabb, Elijah Horrocks and Tyler Baldock. Western Districts stayed undefeated after holding on to win a thriller by three points against Wisanger during round seven action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. Western Districts led by 20 points at three-quarter time, before Wisanger kicked 3.5 to 1.0 in the final term, but ultimately came up short as the Saints won 11.12 (78) to 10.15 (75). Lleyton Hedges kicked six goals for Western Districts, while Khyal Stead slotted four majors for Wisanger. Best players for the Saints included Rhys Bullard, Dylan Lockett, Sam Jonas, Jordan Whittle and Wade Tucker. Best for Wisanger were Liam Sampson, Luke Shurven, Jesse Rule, Darcy Kildea and Brok Viney-Obst.Kingscote won their second game of the season with a comfortable 76-point win at Parndana. Kingscote led by 38 points at halftime, before kicking five unanswered goals in the second half to win 12.18 (90) to 2.2 (14). Lachie Ingerson kicked seven goals in a best-on-ground performance for Kingscote, while James Davis and Cameron Stewart kicked the goals for Parndana. Joining Ingerson in Kingscote’s best players were Zak Edwards, Paul Green, Anthony Anderson and Frank Colman.
