Reigning premier Wisanger warmed up for finals action with a comprehensive 116-point win against Parndana during round 15 action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. Wisanger will take on Western Districts next Saturday for the right to play in the Grand Final on September 3. The Panthers led by just eight points at quarter time, before kicking 19 goals to two in the final three quarters to win 24.14 (158) to 6.6 (42). Wisanger had plenty of avenues to goal with Jackson Lockett (5), Luke Shurven (4), Sam Clifford (4) and Nick Berry (4) the leading goalkickers. Zach Trethewey kicked two goals for Parndana. Best players for Wisanger were Luke Shurven, Liam Sampson, Berry, Dusty Cross and Jai Turner. The Roosters best players included Zach Trethewey, Jesse Gaskin and Ethan Trethewey. Kingscote won their sixth game of 2022 with a comfortable 70-point win against bottom side Dudley United. The final scores were Kingscote 14.15 (99) to Dudley United 4.5 (29). Zak Siemer kicked four goals in a best-on-ground display for Kingscote and he was well supported by Frank Colman, Paul Green, Jack Grimes and Declan Hardy-Corby. Happy Valley confirmed their spot in the 2022 finals series after a thrilling three-point win against Morphett Vale during round 17 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) today. In what was a likely elimination final preview, Happy Valley came from 10 points down at three quarter time to win 11.7 (73) to 11.4 (70). Ben Geytenbeek (4), Dwayne Ruddock (3) and Jayden Little (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Vikings, while Dylan Williams was a standout for Morphett Vale with six goals. Nick Frisby-Smith, Johnny Pegoraro, Liam O’Connor, Hayden Kari, Kieren Bartlett and Lachlan Hamilton were named best for the Vikings. Best players for Morphett Vale included Williams, Daniel Bode, Robert Schindler-Taylor, Braydan Hartwig and Anthony Biemans. Reigning premier Flagstaff Hill wrapped up a top-three spot with a convincing 142-point win against Port Noarlunga. ‘Porties’ have the bye next week meaning they’ll finish 2022 without a victory in ‘A’ grade ranks. The Falcons led by 58 points at halftime before kicking a further 13 goals to zero in the second half to win 22.20 (152) to 1.4 (10). The final term was all Reynella as they slammed on 10 goals to one to win 19.15 (129) to 7.7 (49). Playing his first game in five weeks, Marc Borholm slotted seven majors and he was ably supported by Callan Semple who kicked five goals. Sam Noble (3) and James Bailey (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Sharks. Best players for Reynella included Sam Whitbread, Daniel Whitaker, Cameron McGree, Borholm and Brodie Visser. Best for Aldinga were Luke Watson, Bailey Pilmore, Angus Stangewitz, Mitchell Jarrett and Scott O’Dea. Noarlunga wrapped up the double chance and booked a date with Flagstaff Hill in the qualifying final, following their comfortable 60-point win against Cove. The first half at Old Noarlunga was a tight one with the Shoes leading by just nine points at halftime. The home side completely took over in the second half, kicking 12 goals to three, to win 19.6 (120) to 8.12 (60). Reece Martell was named best for Noarlunga and he was well supported by Daniel Buechter, Vic Robertson, Josh Beard, Sammual Miller and Jake Birch. Best players for the Cobras were Damian Roach, Chris Buersch, Jayden Morton, Harrison Riddle and Alex Marra. Robertson was the leading goalkicker on the field with six goals for the Shoes to give him 44 majors for the season. Strathalbyn kept their finals hopes alive after defeating Mount Compass by 15 points win during round 16 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) yesterday. ‘Strath’ needed to dig deep in the final term as they trailed by six points at the last change. With their season on the line, the Roosters kicked four goals to one in the last quarter to win 13.6 (84) to 10.9 (69). Riley Clamp kicked five goals for the Roosters, while Tom Pinyon also kicked five majors for Mount Compass. Best players for Strathalbyn were Jacob Wright, Clamp, Ben Simounds, Marc Elliott and Austin McFarlane. Pinyon, Adam Hunter, Ziggy Vitkunas, Klaus Simons and Tom Vitkunas were best for the Bulldogs. They extended their lead to 36 points at halftime, and then 37 points at the last change, before winning 15.9 (99) to 9.17 (71). Captain Nathan Stock kicked four goals for the Saints, while Jacob Crate and Blake Carter kicked three goals each. Anthony Biemans and Khori Mills-Richardson kicked two goals each for the Emus. Best players for Christies Beach included Michael Mazey, Jacob Crate, Josiah Sheppard, Stock and Jonty Murphy. Morphett Vale were best served by Biemans, Connor Lock, Liam Corrie, Scott Carpenter and Braydan Hartwig.Reynella all but wrapped up the minor premiership following their comfortable 47-point win against Cove. Reigning premier Willunga are through to the FPAG ‘A’ Grade Women’s Great Southern Football League Grand Final after defeating McLaren by 30 points in the second semi-final at McLaren Vale yesterday. The game was tight for the first three quarters as the Demons led by 14 points at the last change with a spot in the decider up for grabs. Willunga pulled away in the final term, kicking three goals to zero, to win 8.3 (51) to 3.3 (21). Tamara Page, Tessa Kohn and Lauren Buchanan kicked two goals each for Willunga, while Hannah Georgeson also kicked two goals for the Eagles.
