Cove Cobras moved up to second spot on the ladder after a big 195-point win against Noarlunga during round three action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Noarlunga yesterday. The Cobras led by 63 points at quarter time, 116 points at halftime, and 167 points at the last change before winning 30.15 (195) to 0.0 (0). Cove had 12 different goalkickers with Alesia LeDuff kicking seven majors to lead the way. Rebecca Jutilane-Maynard and Emily Risitano also chipped in with four goals each. Best players for the Cobras were Angelique Dean, LeDuff, Kate Galley, Rebecca O’Shaughnessy, Jaime Norup and Ella Gill. Kiahni Russell and Ebony Woodward kicked two goals each for the Eagles as they won 6.9 (45) to 0.1 (1). Victor Harbor remained undefeated and on top of the ladder after a crushing 328-point win against Goolwa/Port Elliot yesterday. The ‘Roos kicked 11 goals in the first quarter, 10 goals in the second term, and 12 goals in the third quarter, before slamming on 17 majors in the last stanza to win 50.29 (329) to 0.1 (1). Victor Harbor had 12 goalkickers with Harry Vincent kicking 11 goals in a best-on-ground performance. He was ably supported by Sam Basham (10), Michael Ross (8) and Daniel Stock (5), while Ben Heaslip, Jesse McKinnon and Zac Dowling were also in the best players. Best for Goolwa/Port Elliot were Kaiden Wilton, Ryan Carnelly, Logan Payne, Pat Dowdell and Dale Cuthbert.Myponga-Sellicks are also undefeated after beating Willunga by 56 points. Aldinga came from behind to win their first game of the season after defeating Cove by three points during round four action in the Southern Football League (SFL) at Shark Park yesterday. Cove got off to a great start to lead by 33 points at quarter time. Aldinga worked their way back into the game over the next two quarters, but the visitors still held a 20-point advantage at the last change. Urged on by their home crowd, the Sharks kicked four goals to none in the final term to win 12.6 (78) to 11.9 (75). Jayden Scott kicked seven goals in a best-on-ground performance, while Jayden Morton kicked five majors for the Cobras. Other good players for Aldinga included Sam Bentley, Luke Watson, Thomas Boreham, Josiah Sheppard and Angus Stangewitz. After a tight opening quarter where the Cobras led by just one point, they kicked eight goals to two after the first change to win 9.14 (68) to 3.0 (18). Jaime Norup and Emily Risitano kicked three goals each for Cove, while Amie Veneman, Dakota Dwyer and Charlotte Carter kicked the goals for the Hawks. Cove were best served by Jaymie Savaidis, Norup, Alesia LeDuff, Angelique Dean, Jemima Buss and Breanna Stoldt. Port Noarlunga led by 45 points at halftime, before kicking a further 10 goals to two in the second half to win 22.13 (145) to 6.9 (45). Vice-captain Nicholas Steele won the ANZAC medal with a seven-goal performance, while Gary Karpany also played an excellent game with five goals. Langhorne Creek led by 21 points at halftime and appeared in a comfortable position to win their second game of the season. Strathalbyn came right back into the contest, kicking three unanswered goals in the third term, to cut the margin to just two points at the last change. Urged on by the big crowd, the home side steadied in the final quarter to win 9.11 (65) to 8.8 (56). Henry Bruce and Matt Uebergang kicked two goals each for the Hawks, while Ben Simounds kicked three goals for the Roosters. McLaren Districts moved to second spot on the ladder after defeating Victor Harbor by 94 points during round four action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Victor Harbor last Friday. The Eagles won 13.17 (95) to 0.1 (1). Sheena Peters (4), Caitlin Ross (3) and Alycia Hepburn (2) were the leading goalkickers for McLaren Districts. Best players for the Eagles included Hepburn, Taylah Scapens, Layla Rogers, Mia Dunn and Lilian Booij. Chloe Byrne, Aloura Kirk and Annabelle Yelland were among the best players for Victor Harbor.Reigning premier Willunga continued their unbeaten start to the season following a 127-point win against Myponga-Sellicks yesterday. The Demons led by 47 points at quarter time, 75 points at halftime, and 102 points at the last change, before winning 19.13 (127) to 0.0 (0). Emma Leask kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Demons. Tamara Page (4), Cleo Guilfoyle (3) and Jodie Hunt (2) were the other multiple goalkickers for Willunga.
