Victor Harbor showed off their premiership credentials with an excellent 52-point win against reigning premier McLaren Districts during round 15 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) at McLaren Vale yesterday. It was the fifth consecutive win for ‘Victor’, and puts them in a great position to secure the all-important double chance with finals just four weeks away. Yesterday, the ‘Roos started well to lead by 23 points at quarter time, and after an even second term, their lead was still 23 points at halftime. The third term would prove crucial as Victor Harbor kicked five unanswered goals to take a commanding 52-point lead at the last change, before they went on to win 16.14 (110) to 8.10 (58). Jackson Elmes (4), Daniel Stock (4) and Michael Ross (3) were the multiple goalkickers for 'Victor', while Codey Ellison kicked three majors for the Eagles. Best players for the ‘Roos included Zac Dowling, Jesse McKinnon, Elmes, Rhys Mutch and Ryan Fletcher. The Eagles were best served by Tom Fenoughty, Jackson Daniels, Elijah Ware, Justin Bollenhagen and Stuart Green. Langhorne Creek kept their finals hopes alive with an important seven-point win against Mount Compass at Langhorne Creek. ‘Compass’ started the game well, kicking the first three goals of the match to lead by 19 points at quarter time. The home side hit back in the second quarter, kicking three goals themselves to lead by a solitary point at halftime. The Hawks kicked four goals to three in the second half to win 7.11 (53) to 6.10 (46). Darcy Clifford, Malakai Kartinyeri and Jackson Dalitz all kicked two goals for Langhorne Creek, while Tom Pinyon slotted three majors. Troy Blackwell continued his good season to be named best for the Hawks and he was well supported by Coby Helyar, Jarrod Kellock, Jack Keynes and Clifford. At three-quarter time, one of the upsets of the season was on the cards as the Bays led by 16 points. The Mudlarks got the ‘wake-up call’ just in time as they kicked four unanswered goals in the final term to triumph 9.8 (62) to 6.15 (51). Jayden Scott kicked three majors for the Mudlarks, while Ben Davis kicked two for Encounter Bay. Best players for Myponga-Sellicks included Harrison Cock, Connor Sampson, Jake Spinks, Ben Kennedy and Tom Carroll. Fraser Tonkin, Tyler Baldock, Callum Tonkin, Alex Horrocks and Maxi Collins were named best for Encounter Bay. Willunga had a percentage-boosting 161-point win against Yankalilla to keep their double chance hopes alive. Christies Beach moved a step closer to wrapping up the all-important double chance after defeating Reynella by 15 points during round 12 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition yesterday. The first half was tight with Reynella holding a slender four-point lead at halftime. ‘Christies’ came out firing in the third quarter, kicking three goals to none, before running out winners 5.4 (34) to 3.1 (19). Chelsea Salvemini kicked three goals for the Saints, while the Wine Flies’ three goals were kicked by Caitlin Walter, Angelica Ranieri and Madison Bennett. Best players for Christies Beach were Angelique Dean, Salvemini, Evelyn Goldsmith, Brooke O’Brien and Tallara Power. Reynella's best were Indiana Barbour, Jessica Redigolo, Ranieri, Sarah Bourn and Sophie Bradford.Cove consolidated their spot in the top-four with a comfortable 59-point win against Noarlunga. Cove led by 18 points at the last change before kicking six goals to none in the last term to win 12.8 (80) to 3.3 (21). The Demons led by 16 points at quarter time, 20 points at halftime, and 36 points at the last change, before winning 9.18 (72) to 0.0 (0). The Mudlarks led by 28 points at halftime, before kicking five goals to two in the second half, to win 11.8 (74) to 4.3 (27). Sam Kennedy kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance for Myponga-Sellicks, while Matthew Merrett kicked two goals for the Eagles. Joining Kennedy in the best players for the Mudlarks were Thomas Carroll, Anthony Kempster, Luke Whitford and Jake Spinks. The first quarter was even with scores level at 3.2 (20) apiece at the first break. From then on it was all the Vikings, as they kicked 11 goals to four on the way to winning 14.11 (95) to 7.8 (50). Corey Grocock kicked four goals for Happy Valley, while Lincoln Holder and Jayden Morton kicked two goals each for the Cobras. Emily Brockhurst was the only multiple goalkicker on the ground with two goals for the Falcons. The two teams will clash again in the Qualifying Final next Sunday for a spot in the 2023 decider. On Friday night, Willunga came from 16 points down at halftime to triumph 4.7 (31) to 4.5 (29). It was the reigning premiers 10th consecutive win, with their only loss coming at the hands of McLaren Districts back in round four. Best players for the Demons were Ruby Thomas, Lauren Clifton, Tessa Kohn, Katrice Turner and Ada Anninos. McLaren Districts were best served by Sam Pratt, Ally Bailey, Gwen Humphreys, Katrina Munzberg and Emily Rowe, while Kiahni Russell kicked two goals for the Eagles.Goolwa/Port Elliot warmed up for finals action with a comfortable 36-point win against Myponga-Sellicks. Jamie Grosser kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Shoes, while Vic Robertson kicked three. Sam Roberts and Gary Karpany kicked two goals each for the Cockle Divers. Ryan Need was the only multiple goalkicker for the afternoon with two majors for the Cobras. Victor Harbor moved inside the top-three on the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) ladder following their 22-point win against Myponga-Sellicks this afternoon. After leading by just six points at halftime, the ‘Roos piled on five goals to one in the third quarter to take a handy 34-point lead at the last break. The Mudlarks won the last quarter, but it was all in vain as ‘Victor’ won 11.7 (73) to 8.3 (51). Jaid Cooper (4), Michael Ross (3) and Sam Basham (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the ‘Roos. Jake Spinks (3) and Jayden Scott (2) were the leading goalkickers for the Mudlarks. Best players for Victor Harbor included Jackson Elmes, Sam Overall, Jesse McKinnon, Zac Dowling and Matthew Wiese. Myponga-Sellicks were best served by Brad Clarke, Ben Kennedy, Harrison Cock, Ryan Kelly and Connor Sampson.Mount Compass moved a step closer to securing their spot in the finals with an excellent 74-point win at Willunga. The Bays led by two points at quarter time, 37 points at halftime and 62 points at the last change, before kicking an amazing 14 unanswered goals in the last quarter to win 25.17 (167) to 2.2 (14). Mason Middleton kicked nine goals in a best-on-ground performance for Encounter Bay, while skipper Tyson Neale kicked four goals. Finn Hayden and Ty Rigney were the goalscorers for the Magpies. Joining Middleton in the best players for the Bays were Neale, Fraser Tonkin, Elijah Horrocks and Cohen Pettitt. Ben Simounds kicked four goals for the Roosters. Best players for McLaren Districts included Billy Chahla, Sam Lawrie, Codey Ellison, Tom Fenoughty and Darcy Brown. Best players for ‘Strath’ were Jacob Wright, Simounds, Cooper Machin, Adam Clark and Daniel Pegler.  Langhorne Creek won their sixth game of the season with a 23-point win against Yankalilla. The Hawks led by six points at quarter time, 19 points at halftime, and 17 points at the last change before winning 12.17 (89) to 10.6 (66). Langhorne Creek had eight different goalkickers with Darcy Clifford (3), Jack Hall (2) and Coby Helyar (2) leading the way. Angus Weir and Travis Bartlett kicked two goals each for the Tigers. McLaren Districts wrapped up the all-important double chance in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) FPAG ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition after defeating Goolwa/Port Elliot by 30 points at McLaren Vale on Sunday. The Eagles won every quarter before taking victory 6.5 (41) to 1.5 (11). Sally Fuller was the standout forward on the ground with four goals for McLaren Districts, while Kalani Bates was the sole goalkicker for the Magpies. Best players for McLaren Districts included Alycia Hepburn, Fuller, Emily Rowe, Ally Bailey and Katie Whish. Goolwa/Port Elliot were best served by Annabelle Mooney, Renee Moon, Indi Miller, Ellie Fry and Tamra Sanders. Yankalilla/Encounter Bay warmed up for the finals with a tight nine-point win against Myponga-Sellicks at Myponga last Friday night. The Stingrays got off to a fast start with the first three goals of the game to take an 18-point lead to the first break. The Mudlarks kicked the only two goals in the final three quarters but the Stingrays ran out winners 3.5 (23) to 2.2 (14). Dakota Oniszk kicked two goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Stingrays, while Molly Agnew and Felicity Whiley kicked the Mudlarks goals. Joining Oniszk in the best players for Myponga-Sellicks included Kimberley Rowe, Jaimi Griffen, Tegan Cross, Kimberly Robinson and Elena Earl. Best players for Myponga-Sellicks were Grace Deacon, Agnew, Carla Humphrys, Charlotte Collins and Nari Wright. Reigning premier Willunga were at their brilliant best as they notched a comprehensive 111-point victory over Victor Harbor at Willunga on Sunday. The Demons led by 60 points at halftime, before kicking a further nine goals in the second half to win 17.15 (117) to 1.0 (6). The Demons had eight different goalkickers with Sarah Wright and Abby Woodward leading the way with four goals each. Lily Baxter kicked the only goal for the ‘Roos.
